Uh oh! pederseni lost part of a leg!

Does it look anything like the photo of one of my spids on my pic thread? Page 3 post 44, bottom pic... If it does then leave it and the T will cast the leg herself. Mine did. But she still hasnt molted to regenerate the leg. http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=168614&page=3

    Eupalaestrus campestratus

I think it's roughly up to 5 years for males as they are a fairly slow growing species. Females up to 20 years.

    Eupalaestrus campestratus

If the T and the molt is quite small then get a cheap magnifying glass to look at the molt.... I have now learnt how to visually sex small molts without the need for magnifying glass, but the glass does prove useful for confirming. Is so much more accurate than vent sexing tbh.

    Eupalaestrus campestratus

I hope yours is a female.... the photo I put up is of my female. My male is a little larger and does not have the depth of pink that my female has. Tbh his colouration is quite disappointing for a PZB :(

    Eupalaestrus campestratus

I was very lucky to get my 2 E. campestratus. One sling was £6 GBP the other a molt bigger and was £11 GBP. I have not really seen them available since, they seem to be in very scarce supply over here too. I bought my 2 february 2009. But I have done a little searching and The Spidershop over...

    getting too advanced spids

I don't know how many of you would agree with me..or not but here goes..... Tarantulas are an ornamental pet. Look, admire and marvel, but dont really touch. Just like your Grandma's vase that is on her mantlepiece that was handed down to her from her mother, and so on. Anyone who is...

How do you tell if eggs are fertile?

Can you post a picture of the eggs? That would be very helpful as it's hard to tell otherwise. The eggs may be taking longer to develop if the temps are lower also.

    what sort of mites..?

Bad mites are generally mites you find on the tarantula itself. Even then not all mites found on a tarantula are bad news, some simply use the tarantula as a means of transporting the mites from A to B in search of food. Some mites can also be beneficial in clearing up the leftovers in...

    Is our hobby dieing?

My local reptile shop seems to have stopped selling tarantulas now... and the other online store which i trusted got into "trouble" and hasnt recovered from the huge damage the media gave to the shop. Hence there is hardly any new stock/tarantulas for me to buy anymore. I seem to have got almost...
