i second everything everyone else said. my dealing with Paul were top notch. great customer service, quick shipping, great packaging and phenomenal t's!
i use a 30/70 peat/vermiculite mix. as somebody else pointed out the age and type of cricket could be a factor to. if your crickets are allready chirping when you get them they are about to die anyway. and im sure different types of cickets require different care. i dont know about where you at...
great, i thought you might like it, i spent a lot of time there when i first found it. when your ready for a more detailed explantion of anatomy/phsyology go the the ATS websight and buy the book by dr. breene called "the ats arthropod medical manual" its well woth the 5 bucks. and of course as...
those where both great sights, but you have to check this one out
http://kaston.transy.edu/anatomy/anatomy.htm
it is somewhat "interactive" and shows you two different pics of each anatomy part, one is a cartoon type drawing, the other more life like or with an actually blown up picture...
hey genious, dust-like seems to be a good word. most likely as you said it was the crickets that smelled, they tend to do that. i have been trying to raise my own crickets for awhile. while i can easily get plenty of pinners i seem to have the most trouble keeping them alive until they are old...
huge is the word. adults average about three inches. although ive heard of a lot of people using them for feeders only one of my 60+ tarantulas will have anything to do with them, no matter what size i feed them out at. here's a link to richie the roachmans sight, i havent actually done business...
ummm, hey if your dog food is "smelling up" a whole room there is definately something wrong with the dog food. if the very small amount needed to feed crickets smells that bad i sure wouldnt feed it to your dog. anyway...... as far as what to feed them, well.....ummmm....huh? dog food and and...
code monkey,
cool, ill check out the polysorb. it sounds like it would be a lot easier than using fruit for my roaches and crickets. and if i understood one of the other posts it can also be used for tarantulas. know anything about that?
bryan
ps. sorry 'bout bumping heads earlier...
to anthony:
hey anthony, thanks for posting about your bad experience with the texas tan. i think if one of my tarantulas bit me id be to scared to ever hold one again, and im 21 years older than you. i hope you post more about your tarantulas, its always cool to hear from other people with the...
try asking around at delis (especially the ones in large grocery stores) most of them serve their cold sides and salads in containers just like those, and would probably sell you some pretty cheap. they probably wont be as sturdy as the ones in your pic look but thats what i and many people use...
try your local auto parts store. they should sell what they call a pick up tool. it basically has sissor type handles that open and close an aligator clip on the end. mechanics use them to pick up nuts and bolts that drop into the engine compartment. no idea the cost, but should be pretty cheap...
hey mark, ive never kept a t.blondi so cant really help with your questions there, but can ofer a suggestion on keeping the substrate wet. although a lot of people mist to keep the humidity up, it really isnt very effective. it will bring the humidty up but only for a very short period of time...
dont mind you asking at all. yes, i did order it allready. i cant say exactly how much i paid for it, im getting it as part of a trade. i put up a bunch of roaches and some cash for a bunch of tarantulas. but, the guy i am getting them from sells them for $20 and shipping is by overnight only...
aph.moderatum
ask me again next tuesday i will have my first one then. i have heard from a pretty good source that a freshly molted adult is a real stricking tarantula, unlike most of the other aph. spp.
bryan
