    P.metallica communal

It's good you're doing your research. They are wonderful spiders. While some people will keep them in groups you need to know the facts before you make your decision. Personally if there is any chance of something going wrong(and there is). Why not just house them separately. I guess I just...

    P.metallica communal

I wouldn't think about it unless you are okay with losing a few hundo in spider. You can find everything you need to know about "communal" living by using the search function. The same thing gets talked about all the time and it's super easy to find. If you don't want to look for it somebody...

Does not look like a Mygalomorph to me. I would guess Badumna insignis.

    Bad molt? Crippled Pink Toe

It is unfortunate you are going through this. The spider appears to be extremely malnourished. It could be out of your hands at this point.

Why do I occasionally run into pics of people mating tarantulas on their hands?

The females fangs don't look fully hardened in the picture and could be brittle. He could get bit and his spider could lose a fang. I wouldn't want to try something like this with a more potent species(or at all).

Tarantula that won't eat, what have you done to get it to eat again.

I have experienced that some of my larger arboreals will ignore smaller prey like crickets and go for larger male dubias. I don't know if it is because they don't deem them worthwhile or that they are better at hiding.

Tarantula that won't eat, what have you done to get it to eat again.

I thought maybe it was a tarantula. I have had success feeding large burrowing wolf spiders to adults before.

I understand what you are saying. I apologize if I was being too blunt. It just seems like the burning question.

This thread should be renamed "Guess what I fed my T".

    Are P Regalis ' docile " ?

Fear and respect are good things if they are weighed out properly. If a hobbyist is truly experienced they will know how dangerous it is to be complacent.

    Communal Apheloria virginiensis

A few years ago before I knew what these could excrete I collected a few in a jar...they definitely can kill themselves and others if stressed. Good luck with this project!

    Communal Apheloria virginiensis

These are beautiful. My yard is overrun with the red sided color form. I never thought to keep them because of their horrible defense mechanism.

One of my Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens slings just molted. :)

    how much should i pay?

This argument is a nice regurgitation. If you want to pay through the nose for something I already said that's fine. It isn't really a surprise that you don't do business with dealers you think are shady. I'm not sure if you are doubting the fact that I see B. smithi in my LPS 2-3 times a year(I...

    I finally found one!

About the size of a nickel. Here is a photo I snapped before housing. In the morning I saw it adopted the burrow I started for it. It had made a small purse and was awaiting its next meal.

    how much should i pay?

Neither of these are "rare" species. I see 1-3" B. smithi at the LPS frequently ranging from 15-35 dollars. There is a lot of false hype in this hobby. Unless it is a new import or a vibrant tarantula most people don't give a crap. Even with the new imports being extremely expensive you are only...
