As far as I could tell the water dishes and tanks were all clean. Does anyone have any really good sources I can send him when I contact him, I want the best sources available to help convince him.
So i've seen what looks to me like bad husbandry practices at a local reptile dealer and i'm not sure what to do about it.
The local nature center where I do presentations with my few snakes and tarantulas wanted a new tarantula of their own, their mature male brachypelma Smithi recently died...
The brown recluse does not live in new jersey there is no spider there that can hurt anyone. Even the actual brown recluse in places like kentucky where they live almost never bite unless they are accidentally crushed and there venom isn't that bad, doctors blame infections on brown recluses...
Back to recluse arguments again i see. This peer reviewed scientific paper is a must read for anyone interested in the topic but unfortunately most idiots spreading brown recluse myths don't even believe in science...
Yeah this video sums up how I feel about humans most of the time. The only reason we are worth keeping around is that we are also the universes only way of knowing itself (well us and any other intelligent life in the universe.) Assuming there's no god which seems most likely. This is why...
None of the local pet stores i've been to around here ever have arachnids not even the Petcos for some reason but the Petco near my parents house used to have emperors around 17 bucks maybe i'll give them a call to see if they still sell them and for how much.
As for walking sticks the nature...
So I occasionally do educational presentations at the local nature center with my snakes and spiders, I used to have an emperor scorpion that I would use also, basically i'd just let him walk on my hands while I talked about him. Unfortunately he died about a year ago and i'm planning to do a...
Contrast that with this.

We are wiping out species far faster than we can discover them. I have a hard time beng optimistic about the future of...
Thank you for posting this now i'm on a youtube steve urwin kick again! Sometimes I take for granted how much his passion and enthusiasm for nature affected my own love for nature, I mean i was already a young naturalist when I started watching him in the '90s but his influence on me was huge...
Just realized I never posted an update on this, he ate a few days after my last post and has been eating regularly since. Either he just needed time to adjust to the move or it was too cold for him.
Here he is enjoying the nice weather with me the other day.
But he's not wrong. Those are all excellent examples of the same irrational unscientific fear based psychology that leads people to fear and want to kill wolves, or snakes for that matter.

Damnit I know animal planet had turned to reality garbage for dumb people and pushed an anti snake and other non furry animal agenda but I'll didn't realize they were now going after wolves...
I cant view it anymore either, does that mean the whole thing got deleted? If so I'll take solace in the fact that after half a million shares and thousands of comments we finally put an end to the spread of misinformation.
I'm glad other people are talking some sense in there, I love hearing from people more knowledgeable than I am on a topic. Maybe we can make some small difference. It's hard to get through to people who are indoctrinated to believe anything they read that reinforces their worldview and haven't...
I almost had an aneurysm when someone on there said spiders aren't animals!
"technically spiders are not animals. And the brown recluse is classified as one of the most dangerous because of its toxins and their effects, it is not harmless as you carelessly wrote. Everyone is allergic to poison...
I know I know I shouldn't waste my time arguing with random people on the internet but someone shared this nonsense on Facebook and I couldn't help but try to correct them.

Just in case the temp has something to do with it I moved the thermostat prop from right under the heat emitter over to the corner of the warm side. Also It's finally summer weather here so the ambient room temperature is a few degrees warmer. We'll see if it helps as I'm gonna try to feed him...
