When you say 1/2 grown, do you know how old they actually are?
They look pretty good size.
Mine were morphed in Sept, and are just a bit smaller.
I got my 5 just about when they started tranformation and losing gills.
I love newts, those look great!
How bout some pics of the setup?
Pitbulllady said it very well . . .
Just to reiterate the fact the the feeding response is scary with these snakes.
They are also midly venomous, but considered "safe" because they are rear-fanged.
But, their pure ferocity compounds that danger, because you prolly will get bit . . .
I...
Its funny, I just picked up a tank/chiller unit off craigslist, and was thinking about either a lobster or a cabezone(rockfish from Ca coastal waters).
The unit has about a 300g tank, and was used from a restarant . . .
Pretty good deal, 250$ . . .
I dont think anything special need be...
Mice are social to a point.
Once a group is established, it is difficult to introduce ANY new mouse.
IME
Groups of males the same age can be raised together just fine.
However, take a 1 male out to breed, and dont put it back.
Once females are part of that equation, males must be...
So I decided it was time(after 2 months) to feed my C. crawshayi.
I never see this spider and havent pulled the tank down for inspection in some time.
I found that in places, the subterranian lair buts up against the glass . . .
It gives a pretty good view into what has been going on down...
Thought you said it was in with some bettas, if not, my misunderstanding.
I definately wouldnt buy any other aquatics from that store . . .
Did you treat the water with a conditioner to removes toxics?
Aquatic amphibians need cycled water the same as fish . . .
Out of all those animals, folks are worried cause Im not a fan of leopard geckos. . .
Tell me they dont have a great cage and arent well taken care of.
They just dont "do it" for me.
You see some pretty rare frogs in this video . . .
Definately a fungal infection, there are meds for that at the fish store.
Youll probably lose the frog at this point.
Id take it out of the tank and keep it on wet paper towels.
There is an antifungal treatment we do for pet frogs to prevent chytrid fungus by using 5 squirts of spray...
1- I got them from the "glass tank guy" at the Ca shows, I got 20 of them
total, really cheap.
2- That is straight up Great Basin desert sand and rocks, even the plant is "WC".
I put it in, put water to the top of the sand, let it in the sun till dry, viol la,
instant burrowing...
The northern pacific was from a WC female I caught and she had babies in my tank.
All I know about the colorado desert winder is that at the very least it too is captive born.
My rattler dont even strike the glass any more, hardly ever rattles, and will just swallow a prekilled mouse with no...
Heres most of my animals, I know I left some out probably . . .

If you find a wild calisoga thats alive, watch out!
Thats a nasty spider.
The smaller one looks like a regular old wolf spider to me . . .
Perhaps it could be a young calisoga.
Discoids have a much tougher exo.
They get bigger than dubia.
Both males and females have wings.
I keep discoids, along with a few other species, and I only feed them to my biggest frogs.
The nymphs are strong and tough.
They dont seem to reproduce or grow as quickly as dubias.
They...
