Comment by 'nurunuru' in media 'Cubaris sp. "Jupiter"'

I've tried kabocha (they liked it!) and carrot (don't think they ate any) so far. I made the substrate really rich in rotting wood and leaves, and there's a nice little pile of calcium powder (plus some mixed in with the substrate) and some big areas of moss, so I don't really worry too much...

    Pelecinus polyturator

Pelecinus polyturator. Gotta be one of North America's coolest-looking bugs! Plus, y'know... They can be parthenogenetic; which is always an impressive trick to have. I believe they are persona non gratae within most June beetle communities, however.

    Happy hissers

My hissers' favourite food? Definitely Japanese curry (カレーライス). Or the leftovers from preparing it, anyways... Sweet potato and kabocha seem to be particular favs.

Ward's unable to get AGBs back in stock

If you've been stalking the Ward's Science AGB page with any regularity, you'll know that they've been out of AGBs for some time now, with an unchanging restock estimate of '3 months'. Well... yesterday, I sent 'em an e-mail asking for the latest. I heard back from them today, and apparently...

Question How do I get sufficient privileges to post in other areas of this forum?

OK, thanks! I followed that link and found the species, but can't see any way to add my own report. Ahh well. It was a dry bite from a juvie anyway, so doesn't really matter! The hobby will be unaffected!

Question How do I get sufficient privileges to post in other areas of this forum?

I just tried to add a bite report to an existing species thread, only to find out I have 'insufficient privileges'. Not really sure what's going on there...

Guess the age of the G. pulchra!

Nope! Doesn't matter a jot. Just curious what ballpark figure people familiar with the species were thinking. I'm inclined to think at least 2 years old. Maybe more.

Guess the age of the G. pulchra!

Just got this little beaut at a reptile show yesterday, and was wondering if anyone with pulchra experience wanted to hazard a guess at her (hopefully her) age! The person I bought her from had only had her a coupla months, so she didn't know for sure. DLS appears to be 2" on the button...
