Right now I have two empty cages, I've been trying to decide what T's I should fill them with. The L. Parahybana looks like it's gonna get one of them, but i am very interested in getting a burrowing tarantula. I had a B. Vagans in the past, but i had to send him elsewhere for lack of space...
Parahybanas are unpredictable at best. It's a good thing they don't cost much. I bought a parahybana from swift a while back and did everything right, after it's first molt, about a week after, it just up and died. :( But the other slings I bought have done beautifully. A chaco I bought from...
Ok, here is the situation. I've got a small room I live in that has the potential to host a few more t's. However, I've got an issue.
Currently, my room plays host to 1 chinchilla, 2 White's Tree Frogs in a 10 gallon tank, 1 G. Rosea in an 8 gallon, 1 G. Aureostriata in a 5 gallon, and 1...
Well if you feel like driving down to Columbus, there is a mom and pop called "Tropical Treasures" They occassionally get some great ones in, my brother got a P. Murinus, and I bought a A. Seemani from them. Usuaully doesn't get better than that though.
I find that most of my T's won't hunt down anything at all. I have to pretty much plop it in front of them and then they'll swoop down on it. Except my Rosey and my A. Seemani. They are the ones I feed pinkies to, they just walk up, feel around it...and then CHOMP, nail it. All my T's have to...
Ah. Well I was thinking of trying to handle my G. Aureostriata or the A. Geniculata. They are both kinda skittish at sudden movements though. I'm just kinda worried that while climbing onto my hand, it'll mistake me for a cricket and go to town!
Well this is multiple questions. (Been away for a loooooong time)
I bought some wax worms for my tree frogs yesterday and was wondering if my T's will eat anything other than their cricket. I know they do eat other stuff, but I'm looking for what works best because I know cricks can get...
My college communications class requires a I do an informational speech. I chose to inform my classmates about the facts and myths of tarantulas. I have a few books already, but I would like at least 1 or two internet sources that are reputable and contain facts. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I went ahead and transferred my 1 and 1/4 inch G. Aureostriata to a small critter keeper. To make the food easier to find since it is a bit large, I just place the crix in front of the keeper.
the sling is doing loads better today. Even roamed out of it's enclosure and webbed a little. I smahsed a cricket and dropped it in so maybe it'll eat a bit.
My G. aureostriata sling just molted again and is about 1 inch, but he has his legs halfway curled under him, but does move around a bit. Should I be worried or just wait it out the night?
Random just bought "Kingdom of the Spiders" Oh my god the abuse in that movie! I wish I could have taken some of the poor critters they left alive :(
