    urticating hair questions....?

Many people develop allergies after being exposed to something over time. On a cellular level it's like a key and key hole. The irritant fits right in to the key hole (your skin/ mucus membranes) and you get an allergic reaction. their is more to it than that but from what I learned that is very...

    New (to me) behavior

So here is a slide show of my G. Rosea in a pose I have never seen. Shortly after I moved him to a new enclosure. Hope I didn't disrupt anything. KWkWqZaJ4hw

    Soon-to-be-Owner

I've heard alot of conflicting info on rosias temperment and behavior. The only constant I've seen about them throught the threads is that each one is different. Mine is definitley NOT a pet rock.

Well my friend the addiction has already kicked in. I have contacted a breeder and will hopfully be getting a couple of slings in the next few weeks. And let me tell you my wife is not too happy. How deep is your substrate? I can tell that my rosie wants to burrow but where he is now, there...

I use the the coconut stuff and it works well. My G.Rosea burrows in it a bit. Just make sure its not too wet, the stuff holds moisture like crazy (chekc the thread coco Nuts for suggestions from others). I too was looking into getting a small sling for the first time. B Vagan .5in". I'm...

Protecting tarantulas as a Natural Resource

If I thought Global warming wasn't real I wouldn't have suggested it. Nor was I suggesting it as a main topic of your paper. Much research has and is being done, I only brought it up as a contribution to habitat loss. :wall: Sarcasm people!

    Line on some T's?

I got a ten gallon tank for my G. Rosea (Menzo) and have learned that this is a whole lot of space for the little guy. After watching some of Robc's awesome videos I think that I will put up a Plexiglas wall in the middle of the tank to make room for a new member to the family. My wife , who...

Protecting tarantulas as a Natural Resource

Along with Habitat loss, I have been wondering what "global Warming" has affected T's. From what I've read, scientists think that rain patterns are going to change dramaticaly in the next couple of decades. I wonder how this will affect T. habitats in the wild. It goes right along with habitat...

    coco-NUTS

I put loose substrate around the edges of the ceramic to pad any falls the T might have. It has been trying to climb the walls but as of yet hasn't had any success. Probably too wet! I will try spreading the now cooked coco over the wet stuff still in the tank. Do I have to worry about little...

    coco-NUTS

So, I replaced the Kritter Keeper that had small gravel in it with a 10gal tank and shredded coconut substrate for my G. rosea (first T.). The coconut comes in a compressed brick that needed to be soaked to expand. After I did that I got the new enclosure set up with a nice little ceramic...
