Does anyone know where I can find a document that id's the Avicularia genus? Id'ing by color picture, physiological differences, regional locales, etc. Anything that clearly id's the spiders. Does it even exist?
Respectfully, please let's stick to the topic at hand. It's very important to me...
I am curious what Peruvian Avics there are. Urticans seems to dominate the Google searches by nature of its common name (Peruvian Pink Toe), but I know there are others. Does anyone have a list of the known Peruvian Avics?
That's exactly what I was thinking! I talked to Rick West about it and he said fallax. But I see differences in abdominal patterning and length of legs/spinnerets.
Ah... you're right. I think I found it. http://www.birdspiders.com/gallery/index.php/Other-Invertebrates/birdspiders_0075
Genus Linothele, sp. found in Peru.
I guess the next question would be- is it L. jelskii, L. keithi, L. monticolens, or another species altogether. The spinnerets are a...
I don't believe this to be Cyriocosmus, although at first glance it looks similar to sellatus. The abdominal pattern is wrong. Any ideas on genus/species?
Thank you for the positive ID!
I know what you mean... I'm glad I wasn't a part of it. It's just too bad it was my thread! lol

I checked leg IV and it has it! I'll put a picture up later when I have some time.
Here is the metatarsus
It's a little subtle in the picture, but it is outlined in black, then a duller reddish, and finally a deeper red center tapering down to a point.
Unfortunately, that was the picture he gave me, but I might go see it in the next week or so. I think it is about 3 inches? He said it was smaller than mine.
The suspected baumgarteni that I posted here, recently molted so I will obtain the molt and take pictures of the spermathaca for...
Someone just sent me this one wondering what it is.
If it had a full mask, I would lean towards baum, if it had no mask, I'd say boeh. But 1/2 mask? I don't know. What do you think, jose? He's selling it.

The other one did molt...
I just bought it from a local pet store. I had been looking at it for a while (months?) and forgot about it when I didn't see it anymore. I thought they sold it until they pulled it out again. So I bought it. I have no idea on it's origins and the management changed at the store, so I couldn't...
