hey there. am using zophobos for my Ts currently.
they're a good alternative feeder for crickets, and so far have been using them without any ill effects.
regarding leaving them in, they can cause substantial damage even to sub-adult Ts, so i wouldn't recommend that.
you could try what...
just check for the normal symptoms.
wet substrate, or temperature. those are on the top list i guess.
or maybe there's something in the substrate its trying to get away from.
maybe you've gotten a rare T that likes to move around.
Is it new to the enclosure or is there something in there that's bothering it?
but anyway, if your T seems to be healthy or happy, why not?
rosies are weird alright!
no sponges, they're evil! really, i'd recommend sticking to water dishes or misting for slings. Ts can't drink from sponges and they harbour a good amount of bacteria, multiplying them faster than you can breathe.
+1 for GBB. they're awesome webbers.
not to say obts arent, but those little devils shoot way too fast, and coloration wise it bows out to the gbb, unless of course if you're mesmerized by the star patterns on the obt's carapace.
most likely be nematodes. you should isolate the said spider from the rest.
hit the search button, there have been instances of Ts plagued with nematodes that had been saved. no harm giving it a try.
its quite similar. to the untrained eye its hard to differentiate.
took me a couple of years worth of staring to be able to see the difference in the carapace. the color's a little different too, likely in the range of 2-3 stops.
most hardware stores sell them.
if its too much of a trouble or where distance is a problem, i usually ask the food stall guys to order for me.
well, that's provided if you're quite close to them, they wont earn a cent off you.
hmm the link by widowman seem to point towards Ts not being able to chew through a plastic KK. why would that be.. doesn't make any sense to me, if they're strong enough to destroy wire mesh, why not plastic KKs?
