Haven't been here in 6 years but didn't forget about you guys.
Had a quick question for ya:
Does anyone know why bee's abdomens pulsate when they land? Is it blood flow or something else? I see it mostly when they are drinking or just sitting innocuously on my front step.
thanks
I've seen them, what a threat. Gashes, chunks missing, eyes torn out, not pretty. One reason I don't feed my snakes very large prey compared to their size.
I find it amusing that almost every time I mention feeding my snakes live prey or feeding my large T's mice and lizards someone thinks...
Anyone know of any piranha dealers close to the GW bridge? I've been dying to get a tank going for years and can't wait any longer. Just wanted to see if anyone here knows of a place close to NY so I don't have to drive far.
Thanks
I give my python and boa live mice/rats, but someone I know who uses frozen mice does this:
He thaws them (inside a plastic bag) in warm water, I think, and when he feeds it he dangles it by the tail and his boa grabs the mouse and begins swallowing, it doesn't constrict. Not sure if this...
That could work. I know what you mean about gbb. I've raised mine since it was a spiderling about 1/2" and this guy keeps getting faster. I think he just teleports now.
Thanks. I can say that my regalis is rather reclusive. If she is out on her bark and feels the vibration of me opening her tank to feed her, she almost always retreats deep into her hide, which she extended under her bark and several inches under th substrate. I'm guessing she will cower more...
Hell's Penthouse, could be anywhere.. maybe the Playboy Mansion. That place was a trip.
I took a look and don't have any other tanks lying around. I wouldn't use a net because when I got one of my T's the petstore guy did that and it's leg got caught and it lost it in the following molt...
That was my original idea. I guess the tunnel ref might have thrown you off. Thanks. I think this is the safest way to do it after thinking over the other options.
I can do that with a tupperware as well, my concern is that she is on the side of the vertical tank and may leap onto my arm and bite me because she's frightened if I try and trap her.
I need some advice guys.
It's been over a year a 2 molts and my regalis tank needs to be cleaned. It's a 5 gallon standing on it's side. I managed to remove the cork bark and water dish so she is now out in the open. She is almost 6 inches in legspan and fast as hell and I'd like to prevent...
I have rubber tipped ones and am careful with them. It molted and is getting fairly large now so I will do that next time. Cool scoprs though. I want to get more in the genus soon.
mine also will walk towards them sometimes and keep pinching at them. He/she has a pretty loud "hiss" from stridulating .It only did it twice, when I removed it from it's enclosure by it's tail to clean, so I assume it's when it's frightened so I don't provoke it. Cool sound though.
I thought of those too. Someone else had recommended snails. I was thinking of maybe getting those orange tropical woodlice. They'd match the toads and look nicer than the grey ones. I'll see if that place has them. I tried culturing them once but had no luck so I only would buy them live from...
hey scorp peeps.
I've had my Og for several months now and noticed the difference in attitude it has as compared to H arizonensis, P leiosoma, bark scorps, and emps. Unless it's just my scorp, it is fairly aggressive at times. It has grabbed my tweezers numerous times when I offer a cricket...
That's whY i don't don't rub rats on my hands. And from what I've seen it works better and my snake never has a chance to swallow substrate.
It doesn't get all scratched up, only once or twice it was caught by a claw, and that was before it started striking for the heads. I don't like...
