I've had these guys & gals for about 6 months now. I bought 15 from the local pet store which had them labeled as chocolate millipedes, no scientific name known.
Been keeping them room temp. In damp Ecoearth and just been feeding the veggy scrapes. And this has been the result. Over 3 dozen...
They're not eating. Can't seem to figure out why not. Temps at 80 & humidity is at 80 in the the container I'm keeping their deli cups in. They don't to be ready to molt. Any ideas to get them eating again?
I have (4) 1/2" L. parahybana slings that if they don't ponce on the small cricket when i first drop it in. I crush it's head and clean out cricket parts the next day.
It maybe just to compacted for them to dig into??? I have 10 in a much smaller container with about 6-7 inches of peat moss and they burrow all the away to the bottom
"Noting that Elmer is a carnivore, Welsh said there hadn't been any reports of missing pets in the neighborhood. "
That's the part of this story that pisses me off!
That would be me. My colony is so small that I'm sure that it's not them pulling the kibble into the egg crates. I have one flat in there that I just pick up when I check on them. Whole kibble gets ate faster.
