aspen isnt dangerous to inverts, it is a hard wood not a soft wood, so there are no harmful oils, but i know soft woods like cedar and pine are harmful to inverts. i keep some roaches on aspen and it works just fine.

a lot of times they molt deep into their burrows, but they just rolls up the molt and move it out when they are finished, and push it to the surface.so maybe, when he was pushing it out, he broke some of the odl legs off, for all you know, sense he s been burrowed, he could of molted last week...
