nice winders, I think the people who shudder the most are those that have been bitten by a rattlesnake, myself included...
In no way am I telling you what to do when you encounter such amazing animals...(at least you are not needlessly killing them)
I have to constantly remind myself...
I think at one time I kept most of what I wanted, but never Centruroides from southern mexico... that still has to be on my list of wants.. along with a few species of Opistophthalmus and Hottentotta/Tityus... one day though maybe..
yep, beware the Hottentotta... I got tagged by a 2nd instar once... intense pain, felt "hungover" for two days, put a damper on the weekend. nuthin compared to the C. cerastes bite I took on my pinky...ICU trip for a couple days...that put a "damper" on a whole month or so...I definitely...
It must be the scabies then cause I think the chiggers like the humidity more
thanks for the help, I was just hoping it was not an allergic reaction to the dry vegetation.
Ok did a search here and turned up nothing... I love venturing out in the desert in search of critters and just to see new places here in Arizona cause it is awesome..

I found them at night in 85-90 degree temps. they live in mouse holes and cracks in the dirt, they can handle high temps but would benefit from a small water dish filled once and a while, though not as damp as tropical spp of Whip scorps. and Of course a vertical hide. good luck
Darrell.
I know they are still trying to develop a better anitivenin for our bark scorp here in AZ, however isn't there a venom unit somewhere in Miami? I have seen numerous venom related shows on them, however whether or not they have Leiurus or Androctonus venom treatments is irrelevent if you have...
