Yesterday I was fortunate enough to come across a free D. Varigatus. My job today is to make it an adequate home. I have done my homework and am pretty sure on how to go about setting this up but any pointers would be greatly appreciated. My main question is whether or not they are communal...

Mine is taking forever as well, right now its maybe 1/2 in.

I feed both my ball and my boa live in there enclosure. People will argue this but I have never had a problem.

I've had my Ball Python for about 2.5 years and she went 13 weeks without eating! She never lost an ounce of weight and was happier than a lark. Now she eats all the time, so try once a week and when she is ready she will eat.:)

What is your bedding? Is it peat moss? I have a ball python as well, is peat o.k. bedding for ball pythons?

They grow pretty quick, I bought mine in june I think and it was maybe .75in and now it is easily 1.5in and showing awsome color these really are a great species.:clap:

My ball python had an upper resperatory infection, I brought her to the vet and she got shots of an antibiotic is is doing great, get her there as soon as as you can!

I recentally got two of these as well they are great scorps! :clap:

I picked one of these up at the St. Louis reptile show from Botar as well. I cannot get enough of it. I must say watching it feed is damn near the coolest thing I have ever seen, it shows no mercy ;P

I would recommend either h. arizonensis or P. imperator both are very cool scorps to begin with, and they do not pack much of a punch if stung.

I agree with just heating up the entire room with a space heater, my apt. has base board heaters so its really easy I keep the room at 85f and all my herps and inverts seem to be happy.

I have been looking into getting my first "hot" scorp and am debating between a parabuthus sp perhaps leiosoma and an androctonus sp perhaps bicolor. How does the venom potency of these two scorpions compare to each other? and any recommendations twords one or the other would be great. Thanks.
