    Lasiodora parahybana Sex

Hello all, this is the actual oogieboogie, my GF posted this while I was at work. She got a bit to excited. *lol* I came home and took a look at the molt and I agree with the male assumption. Maybe she was just a bit too hopefull. *lol*

    Lasiodora parahybana Sex

Forgot to mention It is a juvenile. We thought it was male too from all of its other molts. However, if you flip it inside out there is something there. Last time I said oh well male that something is nothing and by the next molt our p. murinus was certainly a girl. Who knows :) I am...

    Lasiodora parahybana Sex

Looks female to me. Hard to tell from the pic! What do you guys think! If you can even tell! How long before a L. parahybana becomes mature (male and female)...this thing is growing like a weed! Kind of fun since I am breeding B.smithi and they take forever to mature! Thanks, Amy

    Brachypelma smithi

Female is very willing to breed. At first it looked like she wanted to kill the male, but upon closer inspection she was trying to position herself! Male is placed in with female once a week. The two have bred more than 5 times. The male has been eating very little and constantly building...

My guess is fasciata or rufilata He/she only cost 40-50 bucks at 1 inch, and wasn't labeled with scientific name, and it's common name wasn't something I recognized or remembered. All I know is that it is not a regalis...or at least that is what they tell me! Amy

How long before my spiders will "get it on"

They got it on We removed the male last night and reintroduced him this morning. The female didn't drum, but walked right up to the male (causing him to retreat). She stalked him until finally she lifted her body up in the air...he rushed in to make his move. He successfully inserted, and...

How long before my spiders will "get it on"

Lol I guess I jumped the gun posting about eggsacs because boy my pair of mature b.smithi's sure do know how to stand still! At first the female stalked the male, and he went to retreat. For some reason or another they both froze in this postion of nothingness (as b.smithi's do best). He...

    Eggsac

Thanks I have been searching, but I wasn't able to find the pics of the hammock :) and so I was a bit confused! I am currently checking out the links! Hopefully all will go well we are going to attempt to mate them tonight for the first time! I'll keep you posted! Amy

    Eggsac

We are attempting to breed b.smithi's. If all goes well and she produces an eggsac should I pull it after a month? And do you separate out the slings then, or do you leave them together in the eggsac? Thanks, Amy

    Beautiful, Active Display Specimens?

I knew that was comming, must say it was well deserved. o) anywho, I think a cool display tank would be something with lots of webbing, People catch on to webbing and go... "What the <edit> is in that?"

    Beautiful, Active Display Specimens?

*laughs* So its possible that it COULD happen. But it just never has yet? {D {D {D Sure.

    Beautiful, Active Display Specimens?

Yes, I actually agree with you here. I would go for a L Parah over the T blondi. Pretty much just as large, and much cheaper. O) I got a sling about 2 months ago and its already 3".

    Beautiful, Active Display Specimens?

So you wann aplay the what ifs? a molt can be manipulated, stretched, whatever. Sure. Just like someone can lie about their T being 11". If you want to play the what if game, anything is possible. But I highly doubt anyone will be able to strech out an 10 - 11" molt to 12+ inches and not have it...

    Beautiful, Active Display Specimens?

I would have to say that probably depends on the individual Tarantula more so then what type of tarantula it is. I guess it depends on how much of a piggie it is. O)-

    Beautiful, Active Display Specimens?

And now your just not making sense. If anything the molt would be smaller then the new T. Therefore the closest measurement you can get would be to measure a molt and say it is at least that big. If the Tarantulas molt is 11" it is at LEAST an 11" T. So your statment just helps me prove what I...
