I've read this interesting, though disturbing, article on the web about edible T's- especially referring to Haplopelma albostriatum (Thai Zebra). It's a delicacy in Cambodia (then again they'll probably eat anything). To quote an excerpt: "...the spiders are tossed in a mixture of MSG, sugar...
Rumour has it...
I knew it was a load of BS because it is the same person who told me about a 'friend' who had a T which could actually swim. :liar: I've never in my life seen or heard of this and T's (or any other spiders) as far as I know simply don't have the physiological/anatomical...
I've heard a rumour that if you catch a T in the wild it will bite itself in order to die rather than to be kept in captivity. :? Is it true, and if so does it apply to all species? Then again...if a venomous snake bit itself would it die?

My desert hairy Scorpion has not been eating for the past month. I will give her a large cricket but after 24 hours or so I remove the cricket since it seems to only irritate her. She actually seems afraid of the thing and seems to avoid it. Whats that all about? I also find her constantly...
Hi all my name's Krz and I just got my first juvenile Tarantula- a C. Cyaneopubescens (Greenbottle blue). The guy at the pet store told me to keep the soil (peat) moist and gently spray it every 3-4 days to keep it moist. (I live in south Africa and we enjoy quite hot and sunny weather). I've...
