yea I've read it... there nothing on that site about caging size. Like would a 5 gallon aquarium be sufficient in size for a full grown species or would I have to opt for a 10 gallon? Or could I go as small as a 2.5 gallon aquarium.
thats all I need to know :)
But if your saying a 10dram...
I've found some caresheets on these guys but the only thing I haven't found out is minimal and optimal cage size. At the moment this is the only thing holding me back from starting to get into peds. The one I'm looking at will be around 3 inchs when/if i get it.
Sweet find! from what ive been reading the whole Avic family is messed up and theres no real difference officially known between the species, but we still try
I also have one of these pet holes ;). I believe I didnt give it enough water hence why it was out and I was able to get these pics on 7/11/2009. Im guessing its about 1-2 inches.

Got this little one from kenthebugguy.com awhile back, Im suprised at how small it is since I got it back around December of 2008 and it seems to be the same size... unless I forgot its original size since I havent seen it for so long.
Its not that big, id say a leg span of about a fifty cent...
I myself have a little 1/2incher atm. and its in the making a web and throwing dirt on the web to hid phase(its actually a pretty cool looking setup). so far its been very reclusive and hiding... that might change in a few molts who knows. so far so well tho i might add
all the bark is hotglued on even the one in the side. I gave each piece a tug to make sure there would be no accidents, unless the T gets bored and decideds to ripe it all apart (doubt an avic would go that nuts)

It would be helpful if you told me what makes it suck.
Anyways from looking around Im going to assume it the lack of leaf cover... which i guess i can agree on, Ill have to get some fake leaves and fix it

Now a trusty knife like this
along with some chopped corkbark (thats all the corkbark i cut off a single piece then i cut a chunk off it to get all the other pieces)

When i saw it, the avic was on the glass facing me... now that i think about it, that was a good sex shot >.> but anyways it was hard to tell the size since it wasnt stretched out and from the angle that i could see it had the white tipped hairs which is supposedly one of the ways to tell, but...
found whats labled as an Avic metallica about 2-3 inch for 45$, im wondering if thats a decent price. the little bugger seems healthy and good looking. unfortunately no pics. just wanted to see what you all think
lol, me and my gf were talking about this the other day. cept it was more along the lines of the possibility of albinoism in tarantulas. then the fact that some joe schmo will come along and sell these things for thousands of dollars and maybe its better to stick with all the other colors and...
Lol you and your bf sound like how me and my gf were a few months ago. she got a chaco, i was unsure about the whole tarantula gig, and now we both have our 4 own T's :) what did me in was the pinktoe ;) at first... now im trying to convince her to let me get a Haplopelma lividum
