    Chilean Zebra

Hello folks. Just picked up a cute little Chilean Zebra at the pet store. I'm happy. Anyone know the best type of environment to keep it in? I assume its terrestrial, and I'd like to know how often to moisten the substrate? Eating habits? Attitude? Aggressive? Any advice or...

Grammostola pulchripes (Chaco Golden Knee Tarantula)

I have one that is about 5", and it is always out in the open, and very gentle. It is also the BEST eating T I've ever owned, and have had them since 1992. Her appetite is incredible. A very welcome addition to my collection. Highly recommended.

[Inquiry] Where can i get egg crates?

Nate, check out Wal-Mart. I worked at a local one, and, as you can imagine, they go through THOUSANDS of eggs. They just recycle the empty egg crates into a huge bundle with other cardboard, so they shouldn't have any problem with letting you have a few. If that doesn't work, ask the local...

    Marguerite Jane Schultz: 1922 - 2011

Stan, I am VERY sorry for your loss. I truly enjoyed reading my 2 copies of The Tarantula Keepers Guide, which I consider the "Bible" on the subject of these incredible creatures. Take care, and the tarantula family truly lost a legend; gone but never forgotten!!!!

    Pterinoclus growth rates?

Today I received an OBT as well as a Fort Hall Baboon, family Pterinoclus. Does anyone know their growth rates? I've never owned a T in this family, and don't know how fast I can expect them to grow? They are both less than 3 inches. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

    King baboon care?

King Baboon I have a female KB which is almost full-grown. I don't mess with her, I know better, and she is VERY fast and quick. I keep her on the semi-mosit side, as I've read that they need some moisture and decent humidity. I don't know about the potency of their venom...they are VERY...

    E. Murinus

E Murinus Yes, they are harder to keep than most T's.....make sure it's PLENTY moist in the enclosure. Mine would rather run than fight, but I still give it plenty of respect. Like others, mine poops on the ceiling of it's enclosure. They are gorgeous, but mine is rarely out where I can see...

    How long after a molt....

How long after a molt Give her a few more days. Juvenile T's tend to recover from a molt quicker than adults, so her age may be a factor. FYI I think it's cool you're from Goshen, I live very close to Angola....Jason

Can of worms in here ;) - Priceing low to help the hobby - ya right

Pricing low to help the hobby I'm hardly new to T's...owned them since '92, but I only own 5-10 at a time. I currently have 8. I've bought from Petstores, On-line dealers, and individual sellers. I personally don't know if I'm "helping" or "hurting" the hobby, and I suspect that many folks...
