The pitfall to buying Polymorphas is that often what you receive is S. viridis, a smaller, similar species. They reach about 3.5" which is disappointing when you expect your pede to reach 5 or 6". Not many people can really tell the difference from photos.

First of all, never buy or collect juvenile Hadrurus. They do not molt well in captivity. Second, Hadrurus often gorge themselves so it can be hard to tell if they are gravid, premolt, or just very full. Either way you shouldn't have to feed it for several months. Warmer temps can speed up...
Many (if not most) small "polymorphas" sold on the trade are actually S. viridis. A similar looking centipede that grows to about half the size. Got any pics?
