Mold growing on wood in T enclosures

Thats what typically happens to the bark outside I use. If I were you, I'd lower the humidity a safe number, and up the ventilation. If that still doesnt work, try to find some cork bark. Cork bark always seem to work with me. I'd use the bark you find outside for dry climate specimens and...

    stinky hissers?

The main reasons why roaches stink would be ventilation and humidity. If you add more ventilation via screen or holes (Screen would better for hissers)and keep them dry, the smell should drop by at least 50%. Another thing to look out for is leftovers. Make sure you clean up their leftovers, or...

    Best First Hot species?

The fact that you own a regalis and OBTs tell me that you are more than ready for all of the scorpions in the list. If you still feel wary, try the P. Traans.

what species of roach is this?

They are probably dubia (97% sure). You will never know for sure until they mature.

Ok, so I am an idiot. I just bought an OBT.

Be wary when you do cage maintenance, make sure you use long tweezers to be safe. For watering, you can even use a turkey baster if you feel uncomfortable. At first OBTs seem really fast, but you will get used to it. Be careful to not get bitten!

    New to snakes

Always provide a hide, and they will choose to use it most of the time. As for milks, get a Honduran milksnake :).

    Lobster roaches smell< really bad>

To make it simple and short, one of the best ways to keep smell down is to keep humidity down and to remove leftovers asap.

    Question on H.spinifer enclosure

I don't have a picture of my set up, sorry, but click on this thread and it shows a good example. http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=28455&page=6 The gestation period for H. Spinifers last from 9 to 11 months.

    Substrate preference poll

I use 100% peat moss for dry species and vermiculite/peat mix or 100% cocoa fiber for the more humid species. For scorpions I mainly use a 75% sand/25% peat as I mostly have desert species or 100% cocoa fiber for the humid species.

    Question on H.spinifer enclosure

The plexiglass is a little bit overkill and could be difficult to maintain the humidity that is ideal for H. Spinifers. I have a communal of H Spinifer too and I have not had a problem at all with the gravel in my false bottom set-up.

    Shipping question

You would need 2 heat packs if you were either using a larger box, or if the weather was way below freezing which i highly do not recommend.

    Oddly colored/patterned B.dubia

There's always different color forms in roach colonies, there's plenty of weird things that happen, like deformed molts and sometimes i have some slightly red nymphs.

A video clip of tarantula collector

In the first video, he looks like he is using containers that resemble those from superiorenterprise.com. The substrate looks to be pure vermiculite, could be a mixture of vermiculite and something else like peat or cocoa fiber.
