I have a suntiger that I just got a month or so ago - beautiful specimen, too. It just molted and got a bit more brownish in hue, with a less-defined chevron on the abdomen - it's not even really orange anymore. I've noticed a picture on Rick West's site of a Suntiger male that is more...
I'm still tryin' to figure out this dern digital camera thing...here's some halfway decent pix of my freshly molted chaco sling...it's actually showing signs of being a real chaco!
I have a GBB sling that's at about 1.75". I know that they're very skittish, but I was wondering what to expect in the future.
I was cleaning out her enclosure today, and she did NOT like getting out...she shot around like a rocket, kicked up a LOT of hairs, and almost ran off the counter at...
I second what TheEternal says about enclosures...you're not doing your T any favors putting it in such a huge environment. My 1.5" slings are in mini Kritter Keepers...not even near 1 gallon.
Stick with the more docile New World terrestrials before you get into arboreals or Old...
I just got the Pentax Optio 555, and here's what I did for the above pix...I set it to the smallest pixel size (which was 640x480), then set the quality level (on my camera is from 1 star to 3 stars, then TIFF is the top, with a huge amount of pixelage), and my pix came in just under 100kb...
I get an error message when I try to view the clips. Is there some sort of proggie I need to view them? You mentioned they're DivX encoded...what's DivX?
Forgive my ignorance...

I finally got a digital camera and I'm so psyched. I've been futzing with the menu options all morning to get the file sizes down so I could post some. Here's a couple of my T's - A.avic, A.met, and E.camp. The PZB came out a little fuzzy, but I'll get better at this with time, I'm sure!

GBBs are sometimes called 'semi-arboreal'. They are a terrestrial species with a tendency to hang out up high while young. A terrestrial enclosure is appropriate, even when young. Just use a thin substrate to increase the distance to the ceiling of the enclosure, put in a piece of corkwood...
I would wait about a week to be safe - others may say different. Even after a molt, you don't have to worry about crammin it with food right away - T's are phenomenal fasters. Better to give it time to chill out and get used to the new bod, then introduce food. I tried feeding one of my...
Most of us are worry-worts at first...T's are delicate creatures (at least to us). Don't worry about the not eating...T's can go for very long periods of time without eating - they're designed for it.
Get psyched...if it's close to a molt, you'll wake up one morning with a completely new...
I got my containers at Kmart...they're just plastic cylinders with screw-top lids, like what you would put herbs and spices in. You should be able to find them at most department stores...or try the Container Store if you have one in your area.

My PZB sling molted about a week ago, and isn't eating yet...should I be concerned at all? My instincts say that I shouldn't be, she'll eat eventually, but I just wanted to check other opinions.

I'm only starting to get over the obsessive new mom syndrome...we probably all go through it. I think a lot of T owners are probably working through their own fears around arachnids...I know I am...it's definitely the coolest way to do it!
