    I know I know

I've heard of using mice as more of a "treat" thing than an actual diet. More or less something to give them occasionally. I buy more in to finding other insects to feed them than rodents. Laura

    Cobalt Blue Help

I concur, research, research, research. Anyway, my mom has one of these, a full grown female named Zelda, and you pretty much never see her except for the tips of her "toes". They don't get called a "pet hole" for nothing. Laura

Doesn't look like a lividum to me, either, but who knows.

Comment by 'xanadu1015' in media 'What kind of Avicularia?'

Looks like it could be an Avic. avic but there is also a good chance I am completely wrong. Avics can be tough sometimes. Laura

New Green Bottle Blues...need Some Input!

My mom's mature male got to be about as big as a rosie though a little skinnier in the legs. Feed them alot and they seem to grow faster. About a year and a half until his mature moult. Thankfully he did sire a healthy egg sac and she got several slings out of deal, which are growing very well...

    Useable succelent plants

Jealousy? Maybe because a plant can't kick all its hairs off and end up bald? :? :D Laura

Reaction or Non-reaction to the "Hairkickers"

Hmmmm...remind me to wear goggles when I am around some of our big hairkickers. Seriously though, I guess it isn't much of a stretch to consider that the way those hairs look (under a microscope of course) that they could cause some real damage if one is not careful. Laura

Reaction or Non-reaction to the "Hairkickers"

I believe I do remember reading about that. Have to look it up again certainly. I hope the child recovered without any other problems. Laura

Species Caribena versicolor (a.k.a. Avicularia versicolor)

I had to be quick with the shots because she didn't stay still either. It takes patience and the ability to snap a shot really quick. The flower is something related to a lily that grows out of lava rocks. My dad sent it to my mom for a present (rather expensive flower but the guy buys her...

Best Pokie to start out with?

Heh, some species are known for their spastic tendencies but I think it really comes down to the individual spider. Laura

Species Caribena versicolor (a.k.a. Avicularia versicolor)

She can be feisty too. Seems like every time she is out she bites me. Laura

How often do you clean a Ts tank?

Really, you should just clean out leftover meals, dead prey, mold, fungus or if you see mites. But I think it comes down to a person's preference. Laura

Best Pokie to start out with?

I love my mom's regalises "Neeta" and "Raja". Both are very calm, beautiful and don't web the tank to the extremes like some of the T's we have. Raja is out in the open more than Neeta but I can watch both girls since they have their hides in a spot where they can easily be seen. I definitely...

Reaction or Non-reaction to the "Hairkickers"

I would hate to find out what that's like. Speaking of which, what the heck can be done if that happens? :? Laura ps. This is a fascinating subject. Glad I posted it!

    T.blondi Questions

Speaking of "poo shooting", I got christened by my male Avic. avic. "Ditto" for the first time. He never did that before, but he has been a bit irritable. Probably because I have never been able to get him a date. Laura
