    Help

Tonight before bed I spotted a good sized spider moving across the floor. With, say, from the tip of leg 1 to the tip of 4 around 2-3 inches. I tried taking a pic so I could get more help with this, but my cam sucks so it will be another day or two before I can try with a better camera. The...

    Crazy Pterinochilus Murinus

My OBT has never showed any aggression towards me. It has always stayed in its tunnels while I had to do anything in its tank... I finish, it comes back out.

    First OBT help plz

I've had my OBT for about 6 months, maybe a little longer, and has yet to show me any aggression. Whenever I open its tank it just runs back in its web/peat tunnels and waits for me to finish whatever I'm doing. Same for my H. lividum. None of my T's are aggressive or defensive.

    H. lividum

Thought I would update on my lividum. Everything is still the same. Get this... I even tried to dig a little burrow in the corner to see if it would finish it... nope. It pushed the substrate back!! Completely filled it back in. I guess its happy in its hide. Still no molt either. Been eating...

    H. lividum

Thanks. I might try that if it seems too "lazy" to dig on its own. I just now came from feeding everyone, and its eating. And somehow I have managed to exaggerate the balding. I swear it looked worse the other night, or I'm not seeing all of it from its hide. But tonight the balding looked like...

    H. lividum

I use 6-8 inches of peat moss. No, it stays hidden for a while in its hide. Sometimes its been weeks before I can even spot a leg, or catch it out. It has tried to burrow a few times and just gives up and goes back to the hide. I've thought of adding soil to the peat, but it doesnt show interest...

How much does your spider eat?

My A. avicularia and G. rosea eat about 3-4 crickets, they get picky. My P. murinus, H. lividum, and B. smithi never turn down a cricket, so I give them about 5 or 6 crickets each. Sometimes B. smithi gets more because shes a bigger T.

    H. lividum

I asked this before sometime ago and got no response. My lividum has now almost completely gotten a bald opisthosoma. Before, it was sort of in small patches, and after tonight finally catching it out for the first time in a while, it is completely bald almost to the pedicel. I was thinking that...

    Stubborn OBT! Can you help?

My OBT did the same thing when i first transfered it to its new home. I used about 6-8 inches of peat moss with a good sized piece of corkbark partially buried. Didnt take it long to leave the web hammock for it. It has built some very nice web/peat tunnels.

    H. lividum molt question

I finally seen my H. lividum for the first time in about 2 or 3 weeks. I noticed its opistosoma looks bare around the spinnerets. Patches are light colored. Intermolt?

What do you prefer: raising T's from slings or buying T's full grown?opinions?

For me, it depends on the temperament of the speices. Docile to jumpy speices i dont mind buying sling or full grown. Whereas aggressive/defensive speices i prefer buying when slings or very young.

    haplopelma schmidti dead!please read

Then its probably been a parasite passed on from her WC parents. I've read that WC H. schmidti are quite often imported with some kind of parasite. Also heard that WC black forms are harder to keep in captivity, that they die usually very soon, but you had yours for 3 years and raised from a...

    haplopelma schmidti dead!please read

Sorry for your loss. Was it possible that she could have fallen from climbing in the tank? If the distance between the substrate and the top of the cage is greater than her leg span that might be what happened.

    cobalt blue molt

Beautiful! I love my H. lividum but i would never hold it. ;P Not that it shows me aggression cause it has yet to do that, but because a rosea jumped for me and tried to bite me about 12 years ago that ruined me forever on holding T's. :(

My chaco is going nuts tonight!

I say it is just decorating too. My P. murinus has been at this all day today. He has made a web tunnel door under the cork bark leading to his burrow he dug out. This morning i caught him flipped over on his back just so he could web the top of the bark. And eating fine too, just dropped him a...
