you would almost have to go with something that burrows more then on top of the substrate. But it would only be a paper idea. No way I know of that it could be done in RL.
i am going to go with pretty much anything Haplopelma. my experience with the few i have messed with is they like to pretend they are not going to come after you till you get close then they are fast, and will bite multiple times.
Thermostats are totally the way to go. I have a ranco controling the Temps for my leopard geckos and it works better then anything I could have imagined. you can set it to have a degree variant so if it drops below so many degrees below the target temp it turns on when it hits the target temp it...
I have handled a few egg sacs and i haven't seen a ratio other problems is most people who breed do not hold onto the entire sac, for to long. It would be interesting to see if someone did.
all the hoplos i have had are like little stored balls of energy they use little energy till they need to but when they do it leaves you sitting still while they tag you 3 or 4 times before you know what is going on.
ok one of the things that i have foudn with pokies is they will go pen ultimate and look completely different then they did. I made that mastake once of thinking my pokie was ultimate when he wasn't it is just that dramatic change they go threw some times when they are the molt before ultimate.

Honetly i keep dart frogs in a 55 gallon Vivairum and they are easy if you can make sure it doesn't get to hot for them and don't have a deep water feature. I lost one frog to drowning.
I use a drummel to drill the holes in my acrylic cubes the best part is the drummel actually moves so fast instead of cutting the cube it is actually melting it so it usually comes out looking nice and neat.
Just make sure if you are putting in a live pray item it is something that is not going to hurt it ie.. a cricket try a small roaches that way if it is harden up it will be far less likely to hurt your T. but yeah you just might need to wait a little longer.
The Real questions that i have coming to my mind is how is the water situation in the tanks? All T's need some form of water in the tank to survive. And depending on the Type of T is going to depend on home much water they need. but they do need some and babies are more likely to have problems...
One of the things i do with my rocks is i Boil them in water for about 10 minutes. It is just cuz i am lazy and would like to do as little work as possible.
