    Unidentified Juvenile Tarantula

I've had this guy for about a year or so and he's finally starting to get some size. I don't know what species it is and would like some input. Thanks in advance.

Mine too. I keep a S. subspinipes de haani as well and my room is always a toasty 85 degrees.

    Need Spider ID

Note: This is not my photograph. I found it on another forum and needed to have you guys check this out and get a possible ID at least within the genus. Thank you in advance guys.

    Argiope handling

Thanks. The good thing about them is they are readily available in my backyard and in the summer I never actually have to hunt for them. Are the bites painful at all?

    Argiope handling

Does anyone have any experience with handling Argiope aurantia? Has anyone been bitten? I have three of them in my backyard and they are beautiful spiders. I've never handled them before but every time I see one I wish to pick it up. LOL.

    Resources for Education

Awesome. I went to the library today and the closest thing to something of this sort was a field guide to spiders, insects, etc. It doesn't focus on them, but it has some vibrant photos and general information.

    Resources for Education

No, that's okay. I was really focusing moreso on true spiders, but a book on tarantulas is fine by me as well. :)

    Another P. audax thread

Sorry, I'm saving up for a new camera and will have one within this next week. I actually collected a much bigger P. audax right after I made my last post and let the other one free into my backyard.

    Latrodectus (Theridiidae) Picture Thread

Hello everyone. This thread has been quite informative. There is one question that I have though. Today, I went collecting in my backyard and happened upon was I thought was a geo. It is tan with off white colored diamonds going down its abdomen. I found it in the grass next to my shed. It...

    Another P. audax thread

I've caught one tonight after much dismay. I had to chase it through the folds in my curtains for a good five minutes before I could eventually catch him (or her) in a plastic jar. My question is, how big should I expect my new friend to get? I ask this because I see a lot of people...
