Tibi,
Thanks for the correction on the Elapids.
The colubrid debate is a long winded one and one that I'm well aware of. To say they all ARE venomous....well, it depends on what side your on. IMO, there hasn't been enough studies done to count that as factual...and no, there have not been...
Actually "HOT" is any animal that posseses venom glands. Snakes are considered "HOT" when they posses venom glands but there are several species that fall into that category but are not fatal by any means.
For example a lot of people don't know that the common Hognose snake (all US...
So I'm not a pro with "T"s or anything. I have an A. avic that is around the 4" margin maybe a little under.
I'm not all that familiar with what to look for if it's male or female nor do I even know what a sperm web from this species looks like. I've bought all my "T"s as slings and so...
They're at the Daytona Expo every year so I know they're still breeding "T"s unless this was a very recent decision on their part. The Datona roster for 2009 shows that they have a table reserved.
Exo,
"Worth" is a matter of opinion. What you deem not worth the money IS worth the money to someone else...so it's kind of a mute argument.
No they don't have plenty of money, they have money they are willing to sacrifice to put where they want (hopefully responsibly :-). And In this...
I'm not an avid poster on here but I've been following this thread for a while now, mostly because to me, P. metallica is the ultimate "T" and I was curious as to the consensus of it.
But speaking in terms of supply and demand I will add this. It's a cycle...nothing more, nothing less. Plain...
Is there a place you guys go to get your cork bark?
Everywhere I've checked online sells them for more than I could justify paying for a piece of bark.
Are there other varieties you use?
Just curious as to where everyone goes for these. BTW, I live in North Florida so I'm not sure if...
They require a class III permit to sell reptiles/amphibians but I'm not sure if that covers inverts as well. The class III is easily obtained and costs around $50 but I'm not sure if you need additional permits for the inverts.
I don't know if this is in the right place but I'll post it here anyways.
Do any of you Florida residents know if there is a specific permit needed to sell venomous inverts (AKA Tarantulas) in the state of Florida? I'm going to have a table at a local show this weekend with a buddy of mine...
I live in Florida and have my whole life.........and it seems that there a lot of people that have heard of feral tarantula species in Florida but but i've never met one that has actually seen them first hand.
I lived in Brazil and am fluent in Portuguese (speaking, reading, writing). This guy is speaking Spanish without a shadow of a doubt.
If people can realize that pets are still wild animals, then this could promote good review for the hobby creating less fear. Most people realize that wild...
Well, since people are coming out of the woodwork that have them....you all should pair them up and produce a bunch of little "no-names". Then there will be even more of them and none of us will still know what species they are LOL. {D
What did yuo use to cut the tank frame and where did you get the glass/cut?
That's a great idea and much more economical then buying 6 new tanks/cages.
