If I had a nickel for every time I had to explain that a goldfish was a essentially a carp..."No the only thing you can keep in a gallon of water or less is a betta. No those kits you were sold with the african dwarf frogs need filtration and you need at least a 5 gal for one. I know they told...
Well I'm personally a fish guy(merman). Having been in the fresh and saltwater trade since I was a kid I can say without a doubt that fish in general are the top category for unsuitable candidates in fresh or marine. Don't get me wrong because I've seen others and even kept some "impossible" to...
I would float a piece of cork bark or styro or something in there for them to come out when they are ready. I believe it takes around 2 months for them to turn into toadlets. Then you'll need some pinheads or other tiny feeders.
So I'm using a glass 10 gallon with a heat cable and the black light on one end but not shining on the eggs....should I have them covered in substrate or just half buried in the container? They're currently half buried...also I've heard that the eggs can be incubated at slightly lower temps. I'm...
My veiled just laid her first clutch(my first breeding of any lizard aswell). I was wondering if I could use a black light to incubate the eggs. She just laid last night finally(2 weeks late but all the eggs look healthy), and I just finished digging them up and marking what side is up. I'm...
First one looks like an adult Masked Hunter (Reduvius personatus)....I just let one of these run off in my invert room. They're good at killing annoying bugs in the same way spiders are.
I was actually on that site all day and I ended up talking to a knowledgeable employee at Big Als for a while about rays. I think I'm gonna end up building a pond in the basement with cinder blocks and a wood frame. Then throw in some pond liner and use a poly sheet or plexi sheet to cover it...
update
So the reticulata has had a new friend (motoro) for some time now. I've decided to go with an indoor pond rather than an acrylic tank. I've been having some issues deciding what to do exactly though. I'm looking for a 300 gallon rubbermaid stock tank (apparently hard to find in London)...
Completely stupid and ridiculous...if anyone wants to read about idiots and random disturbing fetish stuff like that go to somethingawful.com and check out their weekend web section.
Rhino seems a little hard to contain with enough room for it to roam. The amount of food they eat in a day is something to consider too. If you actually are thinking of getting one I would look into breeding at least. When I was in high school a man in the outskirts of that town (Aylmer, ON) was...
It actually looks like an English Ivy to me so you might want to keep the scorp from eating at it. From what I know that species is toxic to mammals but not birds...not sure about invertebrates though.
I have a question which may turn out to be just a stupid one but maybe some people can help me on this one. Mosquito transmitted diseases and parasites enter the adult mosquito and are then transferred right? Is it possible for offspring to be born with virus and/or parasites in them simply...
I was told that they could be kept together at all sizes in large groups. I went by that and my 4 little guys haven't eaten or fought each other. I do feed them individually usually though and have seen the larger two steal food from the smaller two.
So the T. magnimanus I got from Koh awhile back have molted into what I believe to be a male, female and one immature so far. My question is should I try to introduce the male and female to each other for breeding or is this a species that is tolerant of other individuals?
