So as usual I ended up with some ootheca's. I pulled this one from my fridge only to have the damn thing pop a few days later  making me do a mad dash to Coreys for some fruit flies. Cannabalism kicked in a few hours ago and will be in full swing once they finish the first wave of fruit...
They are now in a tall deli cup with a 1part sand to 4 parts coco fibre. With a chunk of cork bark to climb over.(Those ones were mine from the shipment :) )
Thanks, we will see if I ever do decide to breed them(assuming I have a pair). Still some growing to do on both, also not really a shortage of G.pulchripes up here so may not happen.
Rather not be slammed with slings I cant even give away!
Thelyphonus sp caudatus(Got two more, sadly both are missing the tails)
Stegodyphus dufouri
Also brought home another Latrodectus mactans mexicanus female.
Figured I would show off some new beauties.
Theraphosa apophysis
Lasiodora klugi
Grammostola pulcrhipes(My mothers actually, think it was mentioned it was a male).
Grammostola pulcrhipes female(Nice if the above is a male, slightly more leggy than the female).
Also picked...
I use to keep Metagyndes innata, unfortunately I only had males. I know Mack managed to get them to lay eggs which hatched but all offspring died shortly after. We wondered if there was something missing from their diet or environment that caused them to perish.
Definitely a fantastic...
Well here are the odd few pictures.
Unsexed Juvenile Aphnopelma chalcodes
Argiope aurantia
Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens(Im thinking female)
Female Grammostola porteri
Unsexed Grammostola pulchra
Pamphobeteus platyomma
That list isnt including my mothers stuff ;P I managed to corrupt her with help from Amanda from Tarantula Canada.
Whoops, if a mod wouldnt mind moving this if they feel it should be there aswell.
Figured its about time I throw up a list of my collection. I will add in pictures with a week or so. Unfortunately my camera is broken so I will be stealing my girlfriends for a couple days. Im sure I will miss some things on my list, but anything I miss im sure I will add at some point. A...
All Phasmids are illegal to own in Canada. Though its not hard to find a few species, Extatasoma tiaratum is probably the easiest one to find.
Millipedes are illegal aswell, though those are usually overlooked, some pet stores still get A.gigas in.
Canada has no laws regarding Arachnids...
I think one of the funniest things is when you feed a small sling, and it strikes the cricket so hard it does somersaults. I find A.seemani slings do this the most.
Or when they have too much junk in their trunk. I have to feed all my slow growers once every week or two, just because they...
Email Tarantula Canada(http://www.tarantulacanada.ca/), and ask them, I think they do an import order once a year. They are in Montreal but can ship anywhere in Canada.
You wouldnt happen to have a picture of that setup would you?
I may just go with a mesh in between, if that. Just figured I would try to be as safe as possible without them getting caught in a mesh or making it down to the gravel and shoveling any away.
Another question, anyone know the...
