pic update
this is the start but its only just been planted, so once it all takes root and starts flourishing it should (hopefully) all be green with moss instead of brown peet and coco coir.
My L. parahybana is starting to get big now and I've had a large tank for him for sometime. I always planned on making a planted rainforest terrarium, so thought I better start experimenting now with a 30x30 exo-terra. I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with keeping T's in this...
The substrate is the same as what I've always used although I suppose it's damper than before as it's fresh in. It is normally bone dry apart from a small area around the water dish. Hopefully that is all it is. She has gone off her food too and although she is due a molt soon the bald patch on...
My B. Smithi is acting up. I've had her the longest and she is the biggest of all my tarantulas at the moment but she has recently been acting very strange. I have her in a 30x30 exo terra with the stock background in it, coco fibre substrate and a cork bark hide which she never uses. Every...
I don't use plants either. This is my first go at it. There is a good uk site called dartfrog that is kind of the equivalent of blackjungle (only not as good) that sells a lot of plants for the terrarium. I've heard alot of people use pothos so I will look into that. thanks
Hi all. It's been a while since I posted on here. But I need some help setting up my lasadoria parayhbana enclosure. I'm going for all real plants and mosses but not sure on which is the best choice as far as the plants go. I've done some research on there natural habitat but haven't got any...
you probably have it too wet. I use coco fibre for most of my T's but with my Gbb i use 50/50 mix of dry sand and dry coco. packed down, and as they aren't strictly burrowers give it lots of ground cover for it to web. I put a few drops of water onto its web very rarely (maybe once every 2...
I'm looking for a book on scorps for something to read at work, I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions, as there seams to be alot of crap out there, and i made a few bad purchases when I was reading books on T's so dont wanna repeat of that. thanks guys
WOW, good idea and well done, you are right that is a very common question, and if something like that was at the top as a sticky thread then it would be very helpfull.:clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:
I have no idea about the scorps, I only got them because the bloke I ordered a lasiodora parahybana from sent me three baby emps by mistake. he told me I could keep them and sent out my T the next day. they are about, 1 maybe 1.5 inch. the bowl is 12inch across. see my first post =...
yeah, I keep spiders mainly and when i got my scorps i realised they couldn't climb glass (I didnt give it a thought, just assumed scorps where armoured spiders!) so I started looking and vases and stuff for scorps as I didnt need to worry about lids. with regards to feeding, i just make sure I...
I havent seen my three emps since putting them in there new home, so I turned the bowl round to look at the back of the substrate and it sems they have been busy at work for the past three days.
Burrow entrance;
Kinda wishing I didnt use vermiculite now, because they're...
thanx. do you know if all scorps are unable to climb glass? only I'm gonna use the emps old home for a dune scorp,
the pictures R just to show you what the new scorp will be in, as it is now empty.
3 emps, roughly one inch (not including tail) I'm getting a dune scorp on wednesday, that is going in a vase, i'll post some pics of that when its done
