    Some Sick Ppl Out There

Okay. 1) Why is it hard to distinguish between necessary killing and unnecessary? A car is for many people a necessity. They need it to get to and from work; they need to work for food, etc. So, they don't purposefully get into a car with the intent to kill a bug or some deer or a cat. Right...

    Some Sick Ppl Out There

Maybe we should continue this absurd list: Do you use a toilet? Do you wipe? Do you eat? Do you bathe? Flushing uses up valuable water and you know toilet paper is made from trees and in bathing you are probably washing off and drowning all those little critters the live and die on your skin...

    Frozen thawed?

You have punk rocks in your head! ;P Glad to see you still posting. We've done this technique with snakes and lizards. It works. Never tried it with Ts though.

Keeping Dwarf T's? Special interest group

We have two dwarfs and consider them prizes of our collections. There is so little info out there but everything I can find is so very interesting; I would definitely join a group about dwarf Ts even though I am not an advanced hobbiest.

Why don't more captive bred spiders come with "birth certificates"

I've also thought that something like this would be cool. Seeing how males get shipped around, it would allow for keeping track of who has mated who and might help avoid any potential problems for inbreeding or whatever... All of which has been already said, I know.

    OMG has anyone seen this?!

Yeah, I've been into enough hell hole pet shops to do without watching the video. I try to block it all out. It's terrible when you go someplace and its like you're watching creatures die (at the very least get sick) in slow motion. Missing heat lights, paper towels for bedding, lizards and...

My home has a tendency to get cold at nights.

IMO seasonal differences are healthy for Ts. I would compare average nighttime lows in summer vs winter, spring vs fall, for the country of origin for whatever T species you've decided on. (I think you mentioned a rosehair...) That should give you more of an idea over weather or not you need to...

    She came up for air!

Beautiful picture. It has such a melancholy romantic quality to it almost. Not something I would have thought you could capture in a photo of a T. Thanks for posting.

    how come ....

I would assume it would not only be all the different languages but alphabets too. I do all these searches and keep coming across really cool pictures of ts and all... but its in Cyrillic!! :wall: :? Cyrillic always makes me feel like I'm missing out on something. A tarantula sitting on a pot of...

    Substrate preference poll

I was wondering about Zoo Med Excavator Clay Burrowing Substrate as well but it was confusing because they say you can mold it into tunnels yet ts can tunnel through it? Anyways, most confusing. My husband tried it, he's a manager at a pet store, and disliked it. Intensely. Said it hardens up...

Are any of the substrates this website has proper for a Chilean Rose?

Because Black Jungle deals with dart frogs, I would be more inclined to trust off brand supplies than at even a chain store. My husband breeds Yellow galactonotus and a few other species. I know he has dealt with them before. I guess my concern would be pricing. At lot of times, dart frog...

Are any of the substrates this website has proper for a Chilean Rose?

The place you're looking at seems to be geared more towards poison dart frogs. Most dart frog cages are live planted and thus have a very different set up than many T cages. Cocofiber substrates work well. I noticed that they had some but it was off brand (?), since its Black Jungle I assume its...

    A hentzi thinks she's arboreal

If you don't use screen lids, what do you use? Plexie? Glass? Do you custom build them? Do you have in issues with air flow and ventilation? Just wondering.

    A hentzi thinks she's arboreal

Our boehmi has also decided to do her impersonation of Spiderman. We keep her on cocofiber and it's bone dry, they're suppose to prefer it that way, but, alas, she clings to the glass or hangs upside down all day. :wall: :? At least she goes into her hide to sleep. If you find anything that...

    Fastest T you own??

Right now I would say our fastest is our boehmi when she's not hanging upside down pretending to be Spiderman becouse she's one of largest Ts. Of our slings: The H. Mac is crazy fast as well as C. sp. "blue" (its so much easier to say Singapore Blue) is fast when she's out and about...

herbs for taranulas (medical, not eating)

Super predators like cats, who don't generally eat grains or greens, digestives systems are not designed to be able to properly digest them where as a mouse or a cricket's is. So, basically they predigest the food for the cat when the cat eats their stomach with its content. (Everybody knows...

    Internal T clocks?

This is so interesting to me. The blondi is currently residing in our upstairs bathroom. (She's been ill. Poor thing. :( But is better now.:) ) And I noticed how her internal clock started to change when she was exposed to the natural day/night cycle instead of the artificial one in our...

    Internal T clocks?

I've been noticing lately that some of out ts, especially the H. Mac and our blondi, seem to be crepuscular. They are most active early and midmorning or early evening, but then maybe that's because we're the least likely to be moving around. We're night owls here. :) Has anyone else had similar...
