    Isopods

Reddish Pill Bugs As a kid I kept Roly Polys and sowbugs as short term pets on the west coast. Well, I recently got a nano terrarium and I knew it was too small for many reptiles/inverts. So I planted it with local mosses and plants and placed it on my desk at work. A few days later I was...

    Reasons I love AZ

Tried living in TX before. It pretty much sucked. Even the a-holes are bigger in TX. No offense. P.S. I am just remembering that most of the aforementioned bigger ones were mostly New York/Jersey people who moved to TX...So maybe I just was unlucky in that I never met any actual Texans.

    Santa Ritas, AZ

Went Saturday afternoon roadcruising in the Santa Rita mountains hoping to see a critter or two. Followed a dirt road through a canyon and caught a large Scolopendra heros arizonensis (sp?) I belive it is somewhere in the 7-8" range, but haven't had a chance to corral it long enough to measure...

    The Perfect Food For T's

I think the fact that I provided lots of hiding spots prevented cannibilism. And I kept the sand damp, but not wet. Another thing, they like cool and damp, so no additional heat is necessary.

    The Perfect Food For T's

Quiet Crickets! As noted by others, I too became annoyed with the sound of adult crickets chirping. In fact I would literally hunt down the native ones in my house at night just to shut them up. I did alot of work outside, and I kept noticing when I moved large items there were often dozens...

    Wednesday Evening Road Cruise...

I shot it at dusk...I stayed parked until the wasp dragged its prey across the road to make sure it made it. The tarantula was already paralyzed by the time I happened upon the duo, so I assume the wasp was on its way to bury the hapless tarantula so the eggs it laid inside could develop into...

    classic paloma style

Wow! They sure put on a show to make up for their size! I am extremely interested in this species, I have some sort of weird thing for extremes of size - If its alot bigger, or alot smaller than average I find it even more interesting...for example: Key Deer.

    Introduce Yourself

Introductions... Hi, I am Christian Reynolds. I have been coming to AZ to work the Renaissance Faire for the past 3 years, mainly so I can go hiking and flip reptiles and inverts! I am an avid fieldherper, and used to be quite the bug guy as a child - So much in fact that my family STILL...
