    Serious questions on starting OW

You should know that this comes with a much higher risk than keeping new worlds. A bite from a old world may not be forgiving. Not trying to scare you but this is fact. Everything else depends on what you feel comfortable with. I started off with Poecilotheria regalis. This may not be ideal...

    My sling gbb just died

Hello, There could be several reasons why. Did you have consistent water supply? Was it always fed properly? Has the enclosure been exposed to any chemicals?

    Plexi glass concerns/questions

I want to start using plexi glass for 5 and 10 gallon aquariums. I’ve been trying to research and I’ve been getting different answers. So now I want to ask for myself. I plan on keeping arboreals in these. Specifically Poecilotheria 1) Plexi glass thickness? 2) best way to cut? 3) what is...

    A. Australis/LQ longetivity

I used to keep a number of scorps in the past. Mostly arid species I was interested in. I have been doing some reading and learning from other keepers recently. I used to keep my LQ and A. Australis the same. 90-92 degrees F until night time the temps would be dropped lower. I kept them like...

    Gbb not eating since September

Just as long as the environment in itself is not causing any stress to the T then there is no problems. This comes down to housing and if there are any mites. From experiance I have not had GBBs do much of this but its not unheard of. Just as long as it looks healthy.

    James Denike

I have been in this hobby since I was 17. I sold my collection a couple years ago due to life changes and a baby. Now I am back and would love to start building my collection again. I would also love to start breeding and selling!

    Introduce Yourself

Hello everyone, My name is James but everyone calls me Jim. I’m definitely not new to this hobby. I’ve had to step away for about 4-5 years due to life changes and lack of time to care for my animals. However, I am back and ready to go! My previous experiences are with a wide range of T’s and...

Lemon = good defense for ants?or any other suggestions?

No, just used it for years. I read about it somewhere and then started using it. I do know it throws off their scent trail but that's it. I've just never has a issue with ants after using it. EDIT* I just now looked it up and it says that people use cinnamon oil? I never done that. I just use...

Lemon = good defense for ants?or any other suggestions?

I use cinnamon. I have a snake room and a tarantula room with hard wood floors. Just simply sprinkle a bit of cinnamon around the border of the room and your set! You will never see a single ant.

    B. vagans and G. pulchripes care

Just like others have said care is very similar. One thing I will point out is temperature. Make sure your temps do not stay above 85-90 for too long and make sure that your temps also does not get too cold. A high temp is definitely not needed but some people do not have AC. With those higher...

    Sicarius sp care info

Yeah I had just aquired a few Sicarius from a local breeder yesterday. I'm suppose to be recieving them soon. I'm just going to keep them in the same security cage as my L. quinquestriatus since there is plenty of room. NOTE: they are not in the exact enclosure as the LQ but in the second cage...

    Sicarius sp care info

Give it time and it defiantly will. Also.. Androctonus and LQ's are HOT but let's not forget that they are not overkill like the Sicarius sp. I've known people to get stung by both Androctonus spp and LQs without the consequence of death. However extreme caution should always be practiced...

    Sicarius sp care info

That's fine by me because most of my stuff is imported. This species is very easy for me to get. I just prefer to buy local just because I'm really starting to hate the idea of importing. ---------- Post added 06-12-2015 at 11:56 PM ---------- I've kept a number of them. I've kept barks and...

    Sicarius sp care info

Well I finally found a true spider I actually like. As soon as I seen these I've been wanting some. I have some questions though. 1. Are these communal at all? 2. What are the size of the container that I will need? 3. Do these eat once a week? 4. Who sells them? Just a FYI I am...
