    Export to South Africa

Unfortunately it is illegal to import spiders into SA. It's done illegally all the time, but not sure who the importers are or who they send to. I have been out of the hobby for a few years now.

    Amazing new Ceratogyrus

Hopefully your family has the GPS coordinates to find you in the local Angolan jail too. These will need to be protected

The naming of these forms is so terrible, but yes. From Zimbabwe

    Obt spermatheca?

Here is a pic of murinus spermathecae. Should be easy to see from 5cm legspan upwards with half decent magnification

    P. subfusca?

Don't think you can, other than not to breed any hobby stock and import fresh spiders to start again. Till the next person messes it up... Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

    P. subfusca?

There is an even bigger difference in colour with these two now, will try get updated pics sometime. As far as I'm concerned, the whole subfusca group is a total mix-up in the hobby due to unintentional "cross-breeding"

    Breeding M. balfouri

I just leave them together. From past breeding experiences with these, the mating takes ages, so you would definately notice it. One of my past breedings, I actually stopped watching after an hour of inserts. The female shouldn't kill the male in normal circumstances.

Question about " Sexed Pairs "

I have had a few females mature before males in the past

Question about " Sexed Pairs "

Here is a pick of 2 pairs of pokies. Formosa and rufilata. Both pairs are kept next to each other, in identical enclosures and fed and watered at similar times. Both females are outgrowing the males. Just a quick example, but have similar situations with other species and specimens too.

Question about " Sexed Pairs "

Huh? The females have already matured before the males.

Question about " Sexed Pairs "

I have plenty of Ceratogyrus and Poecilotheria where the females outgrow the males. Had a male C.marshalli male mature last week. His sibling sisters are all at least 2-4cm bigger than him already. These are kept together and fed and watered at the same time, same schedule, etc. The males do not...

    Poecilotheria sexual dimorphism

Like the communal issue, I was at first very keen on dorsal sexing, until this guy came along. I'm still not always convinced by ventral sexing, so prefer the good old moult sexing method for most spiders

    Poecilotheria sexual dimorphism

The spider actually matured at the next moult into a huge MM

    Poecilotheria sexual dimorphism

Not my pic (Will link the thread later), but would you say this is male or female? Its a regalis around 17cm

    Pokie Formosa sexing

I find formosa tricky as the males do look similar to females...

    Ceratogyrus identification

But it proves the point that people are willing to identify tarantulas (Even 1000% guaranteed), just by looking at a single picture. Hybrids happen so easily...

    Ceratogyrus identification

Did you read the whole thread? The spider is a hybrid, so definately not 1000% darlingi. Actually 50% darlingi and 50% brachycephalus. Maybe your darlingi is not a real darlingi then?
