im going to be sending three black neck garters to a friend and dont know how to determine the price of shipping. i know that it depends on weight but i remember this thing where you enter the zip code of yourself and then of the receiver and it would tell you the shipping cost.
I dont have any pics as of right now but it looks like a valley garter snake(Thamnophis sirtalis fitchi). I mean exactly like it. Only thing is that it does not have the red. i have it housed with a female valley garter snake. I think it is the same species but still no red. Can any one shed...
I went to this place form the 1800's and it had a shsck that had a hole in the middle for you to "go" in. Well, i looked into this one(it has not been used for 50 years) and the entire thing was webbed up and in different parts of it were widows. I counted 4. But i could not see through the web...
Yea dont try to force feed. No matter what. If you try it would stress her out wickedly and pos a problem even bigger if you want to mate them. Leave her be and and try to feed her twice or three times a week. And dont try to mate them untill she has fed enough and is getting fat.
Wow, That stinks. I feel really sorry for you.
I read on a guide to Garter snakes that having a place for them to be able to swim is bad. The reason for this supposedly is that garter snakes develop blister disease. IS this true? I do not know what that is but i don't want any snake of mine...
Is this species of garter snake semi-aquatic? I have one that seemed to enjoy being in its water dish. Also does anyone know a good guide to garter snakes in US? Because i have seen ones for spiders, centipedes lizards and birds, Just cant find one for snakes.
Wow! That was amazing. I have seen other spiders do that before. My Grammostola Rosea is all for that trick. I will see if i can record it and show you guys. It will put a stick in between the lid and the terranium so that it can squeeze out.
I found this huge beetle that i identified as some kind of diving beetle. I think it just pupitated because it was under a log. I am interseted in keeping it for a while. But here are the Q's.
How large of container to keep it in?
Can i feed it small feeder fish?
What else can i feed...
i convinced my grandmother not to go to our 2nd floor because i told her that they roam freely up there:wicked: But she is annoying as all heck so who cares!
