    Crotalus ruber giving birth!

There is NOTHING cuter than a baby rattlesnake! I can't wait breed my lutosus next year. I had baby Osage Coppers this year, and still go "awww" every time they strike at me, hahaha.

The third picture looks like Aphonopelma chalcodes to me.

    Phoenix Arizona 2011 (pic heavy)

Sorry, forgot. I honestly have no idea. My friend drove, and I just didn't pay attention. The area we cruised was north of Phoenix, by maybe 30 mins. As for where we hiked, it was a couple hours drive.

    Phoenix Arizona 2011 (pic heavy)

Thanks for the compliment. I am just an amateur photographer, and no where near at the level I would like to be. The shots this past weekend were not my favorites, partly because I was having camera problems. I shoot with a 60D, but it's definitely not the toughest camera I have ever owned...

    Phoenix Arizona 2011 (pic heavy)

I spent the previous weekend field herping in Phoenix with a friend. Probably my last real herping trip of the year, sadly. We didn't see a ton, which happens sometimes unfortunately. I also had camera problems, so the pics didn't come out as well as I would have liked. But it was a blast...

    Tuscon Arizona

I just got back from Arizona, and saw a ton of H arizonensis. Find a road in the desert you can cruise at night, starting not long after dark. You will find scorps just running across the road. It's pretty sweet.

    Copperhead found in road....

Hey Tommy, it is indeed a copperhead. Agkistrodon contortrix. I would suggest letting it go in a wooded area as close as possible to where you found it. They do develop territories of sorts, where they know how to find water and shelter. If the area is a neighborhood, then try to take it out...

Inverts and not so inverts from Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas

That giant Cerambycid from AZ is wicked! You got some great inverts on that trip. I have also moved snakes in flip flops, for similar reasons, or to save the snake if it was on the road. Not recommended, but you did a good thing. Thanks for sharing! Sky

Feeder crickets - Where to order?

I think I am just going to set up with Flukers. I have bred both roaches and crickets before. Roaches were fun, crickets not so much. But I need small feeders for my small geckos, and I only have a few arachnids to feed. A colony would just be too much, and more than I really want to deal...

Feeder crickets - Where to order?

So the town I just moved to is 180~ miles from the nearest pet store that sells crickets. I need to order them for my two geckos and 5 tarantulas. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I know Flukers is the obvious one, but I know there are other places that had better quality, I...

    Everglades April 2011 (Pic heavy)

Thanks Martin. I loved finding those Kings too. But I have to admit I agree with Eddy, the Sistrurus was higher on my list. I had a great guide to thank for all my finds though, very few did I spot myself, haha. The Sistrurus was such a sweet find. I was really hoping for a much larger...

    South Texas April 2011

Thanks y'all! I am starting to get the hang of my new camera. Now I just need some additional lenses. I'm getting there, haha.

    South Texas April 2011

Right after I got back from the Everglades, I made a weekend trip to South Texas. I had great numbers of snakes, but most of the nonvenomous stuff was DOR. I did see an indigo, but couldn't run it down for pics. :( First snake of the trip was this large atrox. Then this rather...

    Everglades April 2011 (Pic heavy)

Two weeks ago I got to make a trip to the Everglades for the first time. It was incredible! Though I only spent two days and one night I found quite a lot of stuff. I hope to go back in the fall and spend a bit more time. I apologize that the pics at the beginning aren't so great. I had a...

    First rattlesnake of the year!

I haven't found heros where I live, but I have seen them farther West in the Davis area. I have a 5yo Canon Rebel 8pm DSLR. It is beat to hell, and the manual settings don't work anymore. I am thinking about buying something new soon, but I will never get rid of this one. I can't...

    First rattlesnake of the year!

I live in Midland, Tx. I caught the snake on my private street, and took it out to my ranch farther west for release far away from humans. I mostly live out in the country, but I am in a neighborhood. People here are very quick to kill snakes. That was my favorite shot, it just came out...
