Scorpion People - I have to ask... :)

I am not a entomologist or a scientist, But I do go to various places to teach people about scorpions, tarantulas and reptiles. I'll take different scorps and snakes to places, One of my specialty's is venomous snakes. Such as puff adders. Like gaboons, rhino vipers etc.

    stupid

Honestly i have to say no, You shouldn't get one. I'm only saying this because you may one day regret it. When you compare the "hot" species of scorps to the harmless types. The "hots" are dull in comparison. Who here can say that a L. quinquestriatus is cooler than P. imperator...

    Haplopelma species being handled?

When you think about it, There is no real reason to even try to handle them. You are risking a potentially harmful and very painful bite. Especially with something like H. lividum. Don't try it.

    Intermediate Scorpions?

I would recommend any type of burrowing scorpion, Such as Ophistothalmus walberghi. They are quite mean and cannot be handled (Unless you don't mind getting stung), Their stings are quite painful as well.

Dwarf species of tarantulas? is there a list?

Paraphysa scrofa can be considered a dwarf species. They are only 4-5 to five inches at most. And not to mention they are beautiful. :) These have quickly become one of my favorite tarantulas. Buy one and you'll find out why.

    Handling help

If you're set on handling it, I would recommend doing in a very enclosed area just in case in gets away from you. Somewhere like a small room with a towel at the bottom of the door to prevent escape. Or you you handle it over a large sterilite plastic tub etc. But believe me, If you get bit...

    A good starter T?

You can't go wrong with a G. rosea. :) In my opinion they are the best choice for anyone's first T, Also another excellent choice would be a P. scrofa. I love these little guys! :D I've never had any problems with them and they are extremely durable tarantulas. I got this female from a guy...
