    Species Heteroscodra maculata

I always love when I Africa comes in, you never know what you'll get. these came in under "Fort Hall Baboons." Too bad I'll be selling most of them, maybe I'll keep a gravid female and see what happens? Heteroscodra maculata

Eye Candy, Pill Millipede from Malaysia

It seems they may be sessonal breeders and we always bring them in while they are gravid, but either the eggs never become fertilized or the female simply just reabsorbs them. With USFWS & USDA now prohibiting their importation, I don't think we'll be able to work with this species anymore, at...

    Mexico Field Shots

So have you had any issues with the friendliness of Mexico? I've been to several countries but for some reason Mexico has always scared me a bit. Doesn't help that I know very litte Spanish. Being just south of the border it would be great to go for a week or so.

Eye Candy, Pill Millipede from Malaysia

The Malagasy animals are often exported out during the hot summer months of Madagascar. They are collected in the moist highland rainforests and brought back to the exporters facilities awaiting exported. They are subjected to higher temps and dehydration causing extreme stress to the...

Unknown species of Pandius from Kenya

They were collected in North-Eastern Central Kenya. I do know that for sure. Pandius cavimanus is found further south along the coastal plain. These guys come from a more arid location. I am leaning to towards Pandinus militaris, because they have been offered as this in the recent past. Do...

Eye Candy, Pill Millipede from Malaysia

I've spoken to some people in Europe, they are much easier to keep. It has more to do with the collection of the pill-millipedes then the species in regards to keeping them long term.

Unknown species of Pandius from Kenya

I've dealt with many cavimanus, it's not one, at least what the hobby refers to them as.

Eye Candy, Pill Millipede from Malaysia

I can't supply these since the import ban, but my exporter did send me this photo from Malaysia. I remember seeing them last offered about 7 years ago.

    Sexual Dimorphism in Millipedes

Am I the only one who has noticed sexual diamorphism in millipedes? So far, I've seen in in various millipede species, with males and female coming in under different names. Examples: Female Red Leg Millipede (Ephibolus pulchripes) Male Red Leg Millipede (Ephibolus pulchripes)...

Madagascar Fire millie VS. Veitnamese Rainbow millie

Go of the fires as they are very rarely available in the hobby anymore. The rainbows are starting to be more common and with Vietnam coming in more and more, you'll continue to see them (as long as LA USFWS lets them in). I mean, who wouldn't want this?

Unknown species of Pandius from Kenya

Everything is pointing to Pandinus militaris so far. I know in the past they've been offered as these species.

    Vietnamese Fire/Rainbow Millipedes (Aulacobolus rubropunctatus)

I just started to get them later last year, so I am not sure on the lifespan yet. Likely 4-5 years.

    Giant Vietnamese Centipedes (Scolopendra sp.)

I tried to take a few decent photos since I got these back in stock, but I'm never able to get a good photo of them. Everytime I get thse guys in I still find myself drawn to them, so it would be nice to show their true colors in a photograph for others to appreciate. They have a nice...

    Vietnamese Fire/Rainbow Millipedes (Aulacobolus rubropunctatus)

I just got in a good sized group of adults these guys that came from a Vietnam shipment. They never cease to amaze me. This is perhaps one of the most beautiful millipedes in the hobby. I might even keep a few for myself! :)
