Finally!!! the kid ate a cricket almost its own size! whew! i thought im going to have a problem there..oh well..everything's back to normal :)

just yesterday, it has been over a week since his last molt..gave him a cricket last night and this morning saW the cricket dead.. did not even bite the cricket...hmmm.. still observing w/in 24hrs...

i see...but from his last molt (3i) around 2days after, he started eating already..oh well, il give it another couple of days.. thanks for the heads up! :)

my 4th instar L.quinquestriatus refuses to eat... it has been about a week now after the last molt...what could be the cause of this eating problem? what do i have to do to have him eat? any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

are you sure you did not seal the container? dude, perhaps i can give you some crickets.. try them out on your spinifer. +joots = happy spinifer :)

what a great morning for me!!! my 2nd instar Leiurus quinquestriatus just moulted!!!! 3rd instar baby!!!! wooohooooo!!!:D right now, he's almost done!!! :D let me share some pics (sorry for the crapy shots..too amazed to get a digicam :wall: )

@boogerman: yep, i think feeding your spinifer termites is just fine..but crickets and meal worms is sure way better than termites. IMHO

yep,if you'll take it to the next level, go for Leiurus quinquestriatus...but never forget to treat it with lots of respect..

do it at night if you need to observe them..works all the time for me :)

i love the Leiurus quinquestriatus.. pretty cool and challenging too!

Heteromentreus spinifer / Heterometrus longimanus ---> not that dangerous..quite active at night and pretty lazy during the day..easy to handle too! great for begginers:) if you want to take it to another level, perhaps you can get B.jacksoni or Hottentota ---> really gorgeous but still not...
