    Question about Old World Tarantulas

I know I'm backtracking a bit, but my friend who is an experienced T keeper said P. Regalis is a good OW species to start with because they have even temperament. I know each individual's personality will vary, but is that generally true of this species?

    Question about Old World Tarantulas

I appreciate everyone who took the time to reply. I won't be getting any OW species anytime soon.

    Question about Old World Tarantulas

Yea the pet store had her in an enclosure with zero substrate. Just some reptile carpet. She will be much happier where she is now. Regarding the tappy, it is extremely fast. I actually purchased this one thinking it was an A. Purpurea as they both go by the common name "Purple Tree...

    Question about Old World Tarantulas

I have a juvie A. seemani that I rescued from deplorable conditions at a local pet store. The slings I have are T. Violaceus, B. Hamorii, B. Albopilosum, and A. Geniculata. I want to add more adult females to my collection, but I also try to remember that patience is a virtue (especially in this...

    Question about Old World Tarantulas

So I have a problem. I can't stop buying tarantulas... I am an experienced herp keeper, but I have never acquired reptiles so fast. I now have 5 slings and 1 sub adult in a little over two months. What is it about this hobby that is so addicting? I have a question about Old World T's. Why are...

    A. Seemanni 3"

Still new but I hope this is a good enough picture of my first sub-adult T. Is there a slight hint of a gonoslit there or am I imagining things?

    My B.Smithi is acting strange.

Thinking this guy is a troll. There are too many (in my mind) intentionally ignorant comments for this to be real.

    2 Month Sling Update

An interesting update is I believe I misidentified the species of tarantula I have which might be why I'm having more success with it. The (what I assumed) A. Purpurea was sold to me as a "purple tree tarantula" and I realized my sling looks nothing like other A. Purpurea slings. It actually...

    2 Month Sling Update

She is phobic, but she is starting to come around. Honestly I was as well until I found several youtube channels I now watch religiously (Dark Den, Exotics Lair, etc.)

GBB sling refusing to eat since 6 months

I'm certainly no expert, but have you tried offering different prey items? I've read about some Ts refusing certain foods but accepting others.

    2 Month Sling Update

About two months ago I posted some questions about two tarantula slings I purchased. I wanted to make this post to give a 2 month update on my progress. Ironically, I have started to really enjoy the A. Purpurea despite frequent mentions that it is a terrible species to start with. If I sneak...

Is there a place that sells custom feeder insect tubs?

I keep b. dubia, b. lateralis, acheta domestica, gryllodes sigillatus, and eliiptorhina javanica. Right now I just have a bunch of sterilite bins that I added some aluminum window screen vents to, but I'm not pleased with the durability of this setup so was looking for something I could simply...

Is there a place that sells custom feeder insect tubs?

I suppose they just look more professional than what I'm able to accomplish with some hot glue and window screen.

Update on my 2 Tarantula Slings

I have a syringe that I use to dampen the webbing and a portion of enclosure. I usually do that about 2-3 times per week. Is that too little?

    Looking for conquerors of arachnophobia

I used to hate spiders, but started watching videos on youtube from the Dark Den channel. I find Petko to be a very interesting guy and have learned a lot from him. His love for his spiders has made me love them as well.
