PLEASE, don't be rude or hurtful. I was panicking badly. I never had this happen before. I tried to contact support but no one answered and it was an emergency.
A 3/4th - 1 inch sling, a Chaco Gold Knee, I recently got had it's legs stuck to a vial from tape residue. I didn't see it, as stupid...
Thank you for clarifying! I appreciate it a ton.
The information that's been provided, or care sheets and such, they insisted on the arboreal thing and high humidity but other caresheets said terrestrial and not to worry about humidity.
I'm glad to know the care I was giving it was basically...
I noticed how nervous it is, it LOVES to bolt.
I just want to know about:
Does it need daily misting, or higher humidity? Or to keep it like a normal sling which would be half damp substrate and half dry?
Does it need extra ventilation (I read it does because of the "humidity requirements")...
I did an engine search, and googled this. Either the information is outdated (10+ years) or the information is confusing (each article contradicts itself).
I recently purchased a Blue Fang sling (3/4 inch) and I did the "research" ahead of time, but the more I look into it, the more I realize...
Great seller, very quick shipping and all slings arrived alive and active! Included a heat pad, and packed slings with amazing care. He was very communicative and answered many questions, I definitely see myself buying from him again! (:
With the very little information you've given, we can only make wild assumptions or guesses.
Assuming it's a male, as you said "he", they tend to drum or shake while walking to let females near by know he's there. They sometimes do this even if a female isn't near by, a few T owners I know have...
The one that keeps hovering over the waterdish lately is a A. Seemani, Costa Rican Zebra. I don't mist or spray her, just occasionally overfill her waterdish when it's shallow or needs a rinsing.
I would get a heater as yall said but theres many factors playing into why I can't get one so I need...
I used the search engine and researched on this and still haven't found answers to most of my questions.
I'm not obsessive with temperature, humidity and such but it's been pretty cold and airy for a few months. I noticed one of my T's hovering over the water dish quite often and read that this...
Sorry to hear about your loss, I would be devastated too.
I just received the slings yesterday as it was my birthday gift, and rehoused them and they are doing well! I left 2 opposite corners damp, the Haitian seems to love the moist corners. I did get enclosures that were a tad bit too big, I...
Thank you guys! As my first tarantula was a Guyana pink toe, I got her when she was 2 inches and now shes reaching 3 inches since she molted.
I'm glad to give them a home, but theres one thing I'm uncertain of even after researching: as a sling and growing up, does the phormictopus cancerides...
I've been into the hobby for a year now, (researching and learning), but no expert. I've finally decided to get my first tarantula about 2 months ago, and she is doing amazing.
My question is: do you think a beginner (that has done the research) could handle these as 3/4 - 1 in. slings...
Turns out she did molt, she moved up a bit to show herself off lol. I did some research and haven't messed with her and I'll leave her alone for atleast a week or until she's hardened.
The first picture was when I first got her, and the second is her lastnight after molting.
She's acting...
I just checked on her right now, she seems to be molting. I see like a carapace or ball of just her molt underneath her, and she just lifted her legs up like shes crawling out from her old exoskeleton but I'm still not sure because she layed a matt down and its covering half of what's going on...
Thank you! And a water dish will always be placed, in the picture I didnt place it because I'm waiting for it to dry then I'll add the touch ups like water dish and such. (:
I was planning to rehouse her, but I noticed she looks bigger? Im probably just crazy but it looks like she has twice the...
Side by side comparison of her new enclosure (2 fake plants and 2 cholla wood bark) and her old one. I will be rehousing her tomorrow as the glue needs to dry. Is this an improvement?
Thank you all for the advice! I just ordered some cork bark and the fake leaf clutter for the top of the enclosure. Although, I'll wait a week or two because I don't want to stress her by rehousing her once more. Or should I do it sooner before she makes herself at home at the faulty enclosure?
Alright I'll make sure of it. Thank you, you're very useful I appreciate it!
I understand, surprisingly she went into this enclosure easily but I'll see about next time lol. Thank you once again for the advice!
