    C. Versicolor Runs From Food

Hi @stuffnstuff ! Sounds like you have it pretty much under control. :D I have a C. versi sling myself. I agree that she is a bit more complex than my other sling to care for, but it's not an impossible task! You're in the right place if you're here and asking questions. :) My C. versi loves...

    Breeding Questions - A. hentzi

The male is also wild caught, however he is from Texas. I apologize, I did not think releasing them into the wild through properly. Luckily, that’s the point of this forum. I am glad to learn that this would be a dire mistake beforehand and will heed the advice of my superiors. I know this...

    Species Psalmopoeus pulcher

Hello all! I’d love to see some photos of your P. pulcher. Mine is a skittering little sling right now, but absolutely gorgeous. I love their adult form equally, but you gotta love these little leg warmers they rock as adolescents.

    Breeding Questions - A. hentzi

Just for the experience, I’m really interested in arachnids and science. I figured I’d give some away to friends and then probably drive the rest out to Pueblo, CO and set them free, once they’re relatively established. I know there’s like.. no demand for them in the hobby. Which is silly...

    Breeding Questions - A. hentzi

Wow! You are incredible, thank you so much. Legitimately, I have searched quite extensively, and I find that you answered all of my inquiries far beyond the capacity of my research! <3 The male made a sperm web 2 weeks prior to their pairing. Do you think that he would still have been fresh...

    Breeding Questions - A. hentzi

Hello all! I am rather new to the hobby, I have had my first t for 1 year this month. I am extremely new to the forum. :D The main reason I finally created an account at Arachnoboards, rather than continuing to lurk, is for this! I am attempting to breed my mature female A. hentzi (her name...

    Enclosure building as a hobby

Ah! Good question. Sooo. If you look closely on the photo I posted, there's a juvie A. avic sitting on the cork bark. I impulsively bought her at my local (small, non-chain) pet store yesterday and popped her right in the new enclosure. :sorry: I have been trying not to get a big collection...

I did it guys :D I didn’t do any additional ventilation for the time being, but it seems decently well vented for now.

Ideal A. metallica enclosure? (My first arboreal)

Ahh! Dude I'm brand new here, I didn't realize until afterwards that I was resurrecting an old forum. xD Whooops. So you got a new exo terra, right? Is that the 8x8x12? It looks really good!

Thank you for your feedback! I'm concerned that the glass will shatter, but I do have some small dremel bits I could try. The glass in the lantern is actually flat panels, with metal structures the panels fit into. I really need to upload my pics, lol.

    Amazon fire

I know, the tarantula species of South America are some of my favorites. That was one of my first thoughts upon hearing about the scope of the current fires. "What about all the undiscovered insects/arachnids out there??! :arghh:" But truly, the biggest travesty about this fire is probably the...

    Enclosure building as a hobby

I'm planning on making a few little enclosures out of lanterns, but I would like to go much bigger from there. I will post the lanterns I'm working with later, when I get off work today! :D I am struggling with increasing the ventilation in them, since the walls are glass panels. I was thinking...

Ideal A. metallica enclosure? (My first arboreal)

I think it looks pretty good! That wood is dope. Do you have a pic of the updated enclosure? You could also mount a water dish up the wall, mine is pretty lazy and seems to benefit from multiple water sources. I'm planning on using an Exo Terra 12x12x18 for my C. versicolor, after modifying the...

    Introduce Yourself

Hello all! My name is Becca, I am a 26 y/o female in Colorado. I started in the hobby 1 year ago on my birthday, August 23rd, when I stumbled across an adult female A. hentzi out at Liberty Point in Pueblo, CO. I have kept the wild caught tarantula as a pet since then, and I have adopted several...
