    Davus pentaloris care and experiences

Got my female as an adult as well; took about 6 months until she began to web up the enclosure nicely and really personalize it, moving dirt around and whatnot, but man are they an awesome species! The black and orange contrast really pops off mine too, I love it!

Which Males do you think look BETTER than the females?

My #1 would definitely be Pamphobeteus sp. platyomma! So, so gorgeous!

    Why do you love them?

I have a few different reasons, but my biggest one is exactly what you said, the calmness they bring me. I work nights so when I get home, usually a handful are out and about and I can sit there all morning watching them do tarantula things. It's eerily calming. And like someone else mentioned...

    Who molted today?

My Nhandu coloratovillosus had an amazing and successful molt earlier today! I got to catch a quick glimpse of its new long, white legs before it darted down into its burrow to rest. Also recently, not one but both of my Ephebopus murinus tarantulas molted and look stunning! By far my...

    Who molted today?

Came home from work to two more freshly molted Ts: my B. albo and my A. geniculata! My G. pulchra looks like it's ready to go any day now too! Busy week in the tarantula room!

    Who molted today?

Came home and found my Hapalopus sp. Columbia/large sling molted! It's still the tiniest little sling ever haha. Really cannot wait to see the colors on the booty start to pop, this is one of the most beautiful species IMO!

Do you name your Ts? What do you call them?

Only two of my Ts have names: my first T was my Davus pentaloris and her name is Lily, and my first E. murinus is Grim. Everyone else gets their super fun scientific name :vamp:

    Who molted today?

Came home from staying overnight at a friends and found my B. albo had freshly molted in its burrow! I can see the moot but it hasn't kicked it out just yet, so I'll let it do its thing, but very exciting - I can't wait for this little guy (or girl!) to grow!

@aarachnid This guy's definitely got an attitude in him - and he's quick as lightning - but this species has to be one of my all time favorites! Look at those legs! I'm really tempted to pick up another one of these - they would make an amazing addition to your collection!

    Fossorial species

Probably my favorite species based on looks - these things are stunning. But mine will definitely not hesitate to threat posture on me anytime I open the enclosure, haha! Regardless, I love this species to death and I would love to add some additional specimens to my collection!
