well this being dug out, I'll take this opportunity to congratulate Finn for his well written and informative care sheet, I didn't know it was by someone on these boards! :)
not a ''fall'' per say, I guess she tipped (not sure of the word, my english isn't that good :P) on her back, she was resting on her piece of bark face up just before this!
so basically she ''fell'' backwards onto her back on the substrate during her molt, and maybe 1/4 of her body + the tail...
thanks!
Just as an update, the female fell during her molt, i'd say mid-molt...she's now pretty much on her back, hoping this doesn't end in a bad molt, like the rest of the tail being stuck in the old exo, already lost a specimen due to one...:S
keeping fingers crossed!
Hi all!
One of my females is molting to maturity as I'm typing. I have two mature males, which I've kept on the cool side for some time while waiting for the ladies to mature. My question would be: Is there any recommended period of time that should elapse between her molt and the pairing ...
meh....that was a little tasteless Bjorni, I am pretty sure you can do better than personal attacks...but then again, I've done mistakes too in that department so. By the way, there are also Canadians on this forum, or do you include us in the term ''Americans''? ;)
Anyway, nice specimens you...
thanks a lot!
Yeah I bought her while she was curled up around the eggs, so for 40$ I get a mom and babies (that is, if she doesn't eat the eggs!). I knew there was a risk of her eating them just by buying her and returning home, but it's been nearly a week and so far so good! keeping my...
Well I just bought 2 scorpions of the same specie and apparently the same sex, called ''Honduras black scorpion''....boy do I love common names:wall::evil:
Sooo I'm looking for help from you fellow hobbyists! My guess is Opisthacanthus asper (Madagascar) or maybe some Liocheles sp., probably...
scorpions don't need other ones around... when you learn a species is communal it means that they tolerate each other to varying degrees, but in no way (to my knowledge) a scorpion would need company.
Good luck!
Fred
Thanks a lot Draiman!
I'll post pictures of mine when I have time, be sure to do so too!! ;)
PS: Good luck with yours!
Oh, just another question mate, there's around 6 holes in the plastic box, should I drill some more on top/on the sides or is this adequate ventilation already?
Hey Draiman, I am in the same situation as you! I can't find much info on the process of incubation by the mutilans mom tho...should I feed the mom during this stage or should I wait until the babies hatch?
thank you!
Fred
Hey everyone!
Well I just purchased a female mutilans wrapping her eggs, I wanted to have some info from people who have a clue what to do next in terms of feeding and seperating the babies. I heard the babies stay with the mom for some time until they colour up and roam around actively...but...
what is the temp you keep them at? also, did you ever owned Mesobuthus martensii? I want to know the gestation period of these and their natural cycling....
I'm happy you are posting, excellent pictures and very nice collection! :worship:
the thing with crickets is that they dont live long as adults, maybe they were just about to die when you bought them...next time, try to ask the employee to get mid sized crickets. if it works then the should live a good week and a half. then when they mature, and females get prego, give a cup...
Hi!
Turgut, it is a centipede! I thought I specified it but did not indeed :o
a picture will be took soon! I don't have super macro options on my camera but I'll see what I can get!
Regards,
Fred
