    Help with strange behaviour

I don't think the gloves are going to stop him if he wants to sting you a bit. .....Isopods are great with them, and springtails too!

    Nephilia and insect mesh habitat

Unless the room is particularly humid your out of luck keeping humidity in these things. Have raised butterflys in them, works well. Don't know about using it for a spider though.

    Co habit?

If you keep them together (I do) the bigger the enclosure the better, the H. Arizonensis will want/need a lot of areas to go to get away from the beetles as they do find them quite annoying, from my observations anyway. I wouldn't put more than 3 Beetles with the scorp and they cant really kill...

    Co habit?

A lot of people use death feigning beetles with desert hairys. Worst iv'e seen mine do is pull one of the beetles around by the leg a bit then just let go and walk off.

A few blue death feigning beetles (Asbolus Verrucosus) get on well paired with H. Arizonensis and will eat almost anything and everything.

    Delicious Exoskeleton?

Here's an interesting image, anyone ever catch feeder locust molt then have another come over and start eating it's exoskeleton? Nutrient rich? It's not from a lack off food around for them to eat. Is this normal behavior?

    H. Spinifer emergency

It's quite sad the state some pet shops keep their animals in, one would think they would be able to care for the creatures they sell. Sad.

Is this mycosis on desert hairy?

I'm right now building a sand/excavator clay enclosure but it's taking forever to dry out and i'm doing it in layers so will take a while (wish the summer sun would hurry up and come out). Hoping it doesn't try molting in his temporary sand substrate, I hear that's where they have a lot of...

Is this mycosis on desert hairy?

Is this mycosis on desert hairy?

Thanks for the input, I'll risk life and limb cleaning the evil little guy tomorrow morning and will post some clean pics. In case i misread you, the joints normally do have a darker colour then? Sad to hear you have seen other scorpions in less than ideal conditions of late, what was your...

    Asexual Reproduction

Interesting, thanks for the info. What do you mean by "not right now"? It can change from being asexual to not from one moment to the next?

    Asexual Reproduction

If anyone knows... Is asexual reproduction in scorpions random/spontaneous or can it be encouraged in some way? Is there a difference between scorplings born from asexual reproduction or ones born from mating between a male and female scorpion. I'm going to assume the scorpion has to go though...
