Not yet for some reason.
All the materials to build one are there and they don’t seem stressed.
I have 2, btw. I only showed 1 hole because, at the time, only 1 settled into its hole and started webbing.
Both have settled in their respective holes.
Hi everyone.
I got a tarantula a while ago and it was sold as Thrixopelma sp. blue. I understand there’s a lot of confusion as to what this species truly is so I’d like to be able to properly identify it.
The picture of it from my iPhone is terrible. It’s grainy and the color is off (it looks green, but it’s blue and the red setae doesn’t look red). It closely resembles Thrixopelma cyaneolum, but it doesn’t appear to be it.
I am willing to provide a molt.
I have a T. seladonia that is in the process of webbing up the hole it likes to hide in. Anyone want to see a photo of it?
I did some research on the environment T. seladonia come from (one locale is Bahia, Brazil). The daytime temperatures are 75 F - 85 F. Humidity is between 75% - 85%...
If the tarantula is currently in an enclosure that is smaller than the new enclosure, and if it is possible to place the smaller container inside the larger one, wouldn't it be easier just to open the smaller enclosure while it is inside the larger one and leave it in there overnight until the T...
Slings should be fine for 1 - 2 weeks without supervision provided the substrate is moist. If the little bugger is 1", you shouldn't have to worry about it much.
Mine has grown quite quickly as well. The ones I have do not really come out that much, but they are occasionally visible. Maybe they come out more often as they age or get larger. They don't spook easily. I love dwarf tarantulas. I don't really have to worry too much about finding space for...
Here are a few more to add:
Aphonopelma mooreae
Bistriopelma lamasi
Bonnetina hijmenseni
Chilobrachys sp Kaeng Krachan
Davus ruficeps (this is a completely different species from Davus pentaloris, they just look very similar)
Citharacanthus cyaneus
Cyriopagopus sp Bach Ma
Cyriopagopus sp...
Ami sp Chica
Ami yupanqui (aka Ami sp Yupanqui)
Cardiopelma cf muscatum
Catumiri argentinense
Catumiri parvum
Cyriocosmus aueri (the genus name is misspelled on your list)
Cyriocosmus bicolor (aka Cyriocosmus chicoi)
Cyriocosmus giganteus
Cyriocosmus peruvianus (aka Cyriocosmus sp Rio Nanay)...
Less than optimal is not the same as knowingly sending them to a deathtrap, especially when I have been warned way ahead of time.
If I knew some places treat the animals they sell better than others, my choices would be to send the slings I produce to the ones that I already know where the...
There are plenty of sellers who specifically deal with tarantulas. The list is quite long and does not include places like Backwater Reptiles (they are terrible, and that is no exaggeration).
It doesn't matter if the sling is housed in something that is 20x the size of the animal. I do it all the time to no detriment. All it will do is pick a portion of the enclosure that it would like to settle in and settle until it decides to move, particularly when it grows larger.
It does...
A mist everyday might be too much for this species. As long as the substrate is damp, you don't need to spray it down everyday. I rarely spray mine down.
How's your ventilation? Do you have any cross ventilation along the sides of the enclosure?
How deep is that substrate? It doesn't look...
