Named my G. Porteri “Silver,” because I figured rocks, minerals, and metals are pretty plentiful and I’ll have lots of names to choose from.

B. albopilosum did not think when it tried to drag part of a roach carcass into a hole.

My G. Porteri has been quite active, it has dug out a burrow with two entrances, it moves its molts around the enclosure, and likes to walk about and web a little. It’s quite cute, but hides if I open its enclosure.

Maybe it has the spirit of Forrest Gump in it.

A. Chalcodes is Garnet, B. Cabocla is Rose Quartz, and G. Porteri is Silver. I basically named them after gems, minerals, and metals found near or around their native habitat.

Not my tarantula, but when I was younger, my cousins had a Brachypelma Albopilosum they named Mr. Octopus. Turned out to be a Ms. Octopus when she got big enough to look at the molt. I thought that was a cute name either way. I remember her being really docile and tolerant.
