    I'm not sure you need to supply extra heat for a tarantula...unless your house is EXTREMELY cold....and definitely don't heat from below or you will end up cooking the T as they naturally burrow if they get too warm...

    Unless you know the species of 'worm' or can post a photo to have it identified on the forum, you are potentially putting your T in danger....yes, it is PROBABLY harmless, but why risk it..?

    Advice here on slings would seem to suggest damp to wet substrate whatever the T type, and slowly changing that to dry (for B Smithi) as they change to juveniles.....have I got that right..?
