    Having trouble handling my t's

Whenever I've replaced the substrate for one of my Ts or put it in a new container with new substrate, I would give it about 2 weeks to get used to is new home before attempting to handle it or even feed it. I think they're mostly scared and confused during this time because they don't have...

What kind of chameleon is this?

Could it be a graceful chameleon? I'm not really familiar with them, but I've seen the term here and there.

Cleaning slate tile in leo enclosure?

I picked up a 20" x 6' roll of kitchen liner yesterday for $6 at Wal-mart. I measured my tanks and cut the liner to size. The roll was long enough to cut 2 20-gallon and 2 5.5-gallon sheets. I have to make some minor trims due to the terrarium glue not letting the liner sit perfectly flat...

Cleaning slate tile in leo enclosure?

Some people experience problems with sand, while others do not. I was going for a natural look and feel, hence my decision to use it. Personally, when I used Zoo Med Vita Sand, I experienced no issues. I compared it to other bags of sand in the store when I bought it and I went with it...

    Egg Sac Consumption

I had two gravid G. rosea at the same time. One was actually driven across town 4 days after she laid her eggs because she was a gift for my cousin and his parents didn't want the T in the house any longer. I had no issues whatsoever with that one. On Day 30, I pulled the sac and had 209...

Cleaning slate tile in leo enclosure?

Thanks for all the replies. I currently use paper towels for my hatchling geckos because I don't really care about how nice the tank looks since it's just a temporary home. It's working out great so far for them, and I'm sure it would work great for the adults also. I've also read lots of...

Cleaning slate tile in leo enclosure?

Good day, everyone! I switched my leopard geckos' substrate from sand to slate tile a few months ago and I find it more difficult to clean than I thought it would be. I've read on numerous websites that slate is a better choice than sand because geckos can't get impacted by tile and that...

It never ceases to amaze me

I've been to the shop that has the B. smithi. I didn't see that one when I was there, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were its permanent enclosure. They had an adult female G. rosea in a 8x4x4" glass tank with crushed walnut shells as the substrate and a small A. avic in the same exact...

    Share YOUR scary T dreams

I've had two scary T dreams. The first one had to do with one of my OBTs. I was feeding her or trying to change out the water in her dish and she darted up the tweezers and onto my hand. I freaked out and was trying to position myself so that she could climb back into her tank and she reared...

    Got HISSED at!

Yup, absolutely sure. She had an eggsac, so she was already pretty stressed out. She walked toward me, reared back, hissed, and struck in my general direction. She' back to her sweet old self now, though.
