Breeding attempt, should I even bother?

Who (like me) immediately zoomed in looking for clues of the escapee? 😂

Congratulations and best of luck. Beautiful little t’s too

    Funniest tarantula claims

i 3rd this. Mine have lovely, calm temperaments and though I think they are pretty, they have the big brown hairy spider looks that freaks most arachnophobes. What’s not to love. I’ve always preferred terrestrials though!

    Experience flying with T's

If taking tarantulas on a plane became a thing, I can just imagine the dinky travel enclosures and accessories those companies would waste no time on bringing out, for those fashion forward globe trotting t’s.

    Alternative choice to Homoeomma chilensis

Tlitocatl albopilosum. The best beginner t and in my eyes the best t of all. So overlooked. Back in approx 2019 I had 3 slings and fully intended to grow them on, keep whichever turned out female and sell the rest. Still have the 3 and wouldn’t dream of parting with any of them.

    OBT...nuff said?

Leave it be. Only start worrying after a couple months. This is normal behaviour, and this is why we go for smaller enclosures with less substrate depth for slings and juvies, purely so we can keep an eye on their well-being. Yes the enclosure is way too big, but as long as she can cope with...

    OBT...nuff said?

10” of substrate for a 1.25” sling? This I need to see. I am assuming that she is an adult and that’s your grand daughter in your profile pic, not her, right?! Well, I know they say “Needs more substrate”, but that doesn’t hold true for slings. They burrow deep and stay hidden, with...

(Rehousing) How do i get my H pulchripes out of her mini cup into the main enclosure??

I’m glad you sorted it but you could have got a long paintbrush or something else a similar width as long as not sharp. Then open the hatch a crack, just enough to get the brush into the enclosure to gently touch your H pulchripes legs.

Controversial Opinion - the ladder system

if you love these creatures and you are not the slightest bit arachnophobic, plus you are diligent about learning the husbandry and how to rehouse and prevent escapes. As long as you’re not an idiot looking for “the most defensive t” to show off to your mates, then I see no problem with an OW...

Who is your most stubborn rehouse?

My first thought was Holothele longipes. Transfering one I was rearing out of a vial it outgrew to a sling enclosure . Omg, what a bolty nightmare . I knew they were fast but I obviously hadn’t appreciated HOW fast they can be. I cringe to this day, just think whack a mole with a catch cup….

    Pterinopelma sazimai

A freshly moulted P saz is beautifully blue. The shade reminds me of a fountain pen cartridge of blue ink, held up to the light 😍

Not sure why the password reset email didn’t work, you oughta let them know in case there is a problem they need to resolve. When my device broke, I lost access to my email as I’d forgot that password too 😩 So I couldn’t request the password reset. If you scroll all the way down there’s a...

No worries, I just got really confused! There are trolls online everywhere these days so I just wanted to check you were legit! Hope you understand 😊 I too couldn’t remember my password to AB. I emailed them and Debby sorted it out for me very quickly. She had my account back up and running in...

    Tarantobelus jeffdanielsi

Thanks for the link , as I’m in the UK unfortunately I couldn’t access the OP’s link. It goes to show that anyone who discovers nematodes should send them off for study as chances are they may have found an unknown species.

6" Acanthoscurria geniculata stuck in molt

Yeah unfortunately she may not survive. You can try giving her water, by gently placing her over a dish to drink (you may need a larger saucer due to the stuck moult). It may revive her a little and is worth a try.
